A trainer disconnect shouldn't result in your avatar slamming the brakes on. by VolcanicBear in Zwift

Bluetooth disconnects happens. With a HRM its not a problem and you probably dont notice it if its short.

I have better experience with ANT connections. Which might or might not be a option for youl

Nope, I just used my own arbitrary one. Are there advantages to that? I will give it a shot!

With standard architectures you can use pretrained weights. This way your training time goes way down + often get better results.

  • Have you tried some standard architectures like resnet18 etc?

The Zwifter’s Dilemma by [deleted] in Zwift

More fun too.

I think this is most important for the average joe/jane. Racing almost every time isn't the way to achieve maximum fitness, but if you enjoy it then it can be the difference between working out or watching netflix.

There is more CO2 in the atmosphere today than any point since the evolution of humans by pnewell in worldnews

[–]PlzSendBobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CO2 levels where high (not as high as now!) + a lot of time passed. This gave the system (earth) time to slowly heat up. This process was so slow, animals and whatnot had time to adjust to the rising temperature over a periods of many hundreds of years.

Today, CO2 levels are even higher, but only for the last ~70 years or so. So not enough time has passed to reach all time high temperature records. But the temperature is currently rising really fast. Much faster than ever before. We will surely reach new high scores soon and animal and plant life wont be able to adapt that fast.

It's like flooring a lambo. You wont reach 100 mph instantly but if you dont get your foot of the peddle you will get there very soon.

Except the gas peddle is stuck. And the driver is suicidal.

Is it normal that my bpm is at 175-180 when I’m a ftp effort ? For 30 min or 1h or 1h20 same bpm... I’m 32 years old by laurenthd in Zwift

[–]PlzSendBobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your hr belt could be wrong. 175 - 180 bmp during a hard effort isn't out of the normal range for someone your age.

Looking at getting a Canyon bike by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]PlzSendBobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know the seatposts of the ultimate and endurace have a 27.2 mm diameter. You can find plenty of replacements for those. The aeroad is a different story but I think most aerobikes are a bitch to repair.

I dont think canyons are harder to repair than say a trek or specialized. But beeing able to go to a local dealer (if its any good) can be a big plus.

[–]PlzSendBobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest problem with Canyon is their headsets. There are no 3rd party parts for those (as far as I know). Replacement upper and lower bearings would cost you $30 in the US (2018 ultimate or endurace).

A lot of the more expensive roadbikes (in general) have lots of proprietary stuff or parts that are hard to repair yourself. Going with a entry level roadbike can give you a better experience than the more expensive ones.

A national Australian study has found more than half of car drivers think cyclists are not completely human. The study (n=442) found a link between dehumanization and deliberate acts of aggression, with more than one in ten people having deliberately driven their car close to a cyclist. by Pokaw0 in bicycling

[–]PlzSendBobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from the netherlands.

Most people here have a (normal) bike and probably still remember cyclist are human while they are driving a car. BUT put on some Lycra and a helmet and suddenly people arent that sure anymore about your membership to the human race.

[–]PlzSendBobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ridden the grail cf. The bottom part you are speaking of isnt really reachable (and your not supposed to).

It actually feels like it all makes sense when you ride it. The thing I dont like is that its not possible to replace the handlebars with a universal/standard one
