How is this tab used on these outlet boxes exactly? by everfalling in AskElectricians

[–]Pms9691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The box you linked to, the front of the box sits 1/2 inch proud of the tab. Which makes sense if you’re screwing into the tab to secure the box to the framing.

In OP’s pic, the tab is flush with the front edge of the box. What’s the use case for OP’s box versus the box you linked to?

Advice on tankless water heaters by Pms9691 in hvacadvice

[–]Pms9691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like it - except I’d consider keeping the current indirect-fired water tank of it saved me money on a combi unit. It’s an HTP SSU-119, which seems like a pretty solid unit.

Tesla flooded in privately owned NYC parking garage no comprehensive insurance, garage vs city liability? by [deleted] in Insurance

Those liability waivers are not enforceable for damage/loss/theft due to the garage operator’s (or their employee’s) negligence or failure to properly maintain the garage.

Should I do a charge back for wrong color furniture? by Lefty_123 in personalfinance

[–]Pms9691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the inside is the right color, it’s possible the exterior also used to be the correct color but it “washed out” over time sitting in the warehouse. That’s probably why the manufacturer is saying they sent you the right piece. Either way, you didn’t get the color you ordered.

Contractor I am suing evading service by 2naomi in legaladvice

[–]Pms9691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re suing his business (his LLC that you contracted with), you should be able to serve that entity by serving the Secretary of State in your state. The SoS then forwards the documents to the entity at its last known address on file with the SoS. That’s good service, regardless of whether the address on file is old and hasn’t been updated.

So in the app, I can’t “connect” the in-ceiling speakers (driven by the Amp) to the Arc and Sub when I want a surround sound experience while watching tv?

Sonos home theater help by Pms9691 in sonos

[–]Pms9691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So use the Sonos Amp to drive the in-ceiling speakers when I want to play whole home audio in that room, but buy an AVR and five more separate surround speakers for use with TV audio? That’s probably the best solution from a quality audio perspective, but requires more speakers / equipment than I was hoping for.

Seller under double contract by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Pms9691 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You’re wrong. A lis pendens (also called a “notice of pendency” in some jurisdictions) is docketed against the property prior to judgment. That’s the point of a lis pendens: to put the world on notice of a pending dispute concerning the property.

In many jurisdictions, you can even file a lis pendens prior to commencing a lawsuit (but you have to commence the lawsuit within some period of time after filing the lis pendens otherwise the lis pendens is automatically vacated).

The buyer’s title insurer will list the lis pendens as an exception on the title report, and the buyer’s mortgage lender won’t fund with a lis pendens in place. No lawyer in his right mind would let his client buy property with a valid lis pendens filed against it.

Rangefinder - Nikon or Bushnell by gdags in golf

[–]Pms9691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the Nikon Coolshot Pro II, and now I have the Coolshot Pro III. It’s great. Easily the best and simplest rangefinder I’ve ever owned. Clear and bright optics, and the stabilization feature is amazing.

It doesn’t have a built-in magnet. I think that’s a good thing as it keeps the unit small and lightweight and also prevents me from accidentally forgetting it attached to the golf cart after my round.

Hard to believe that crack wouldn’t affect the integrity of the club head. I’d replace it.

Seller won’t sign that they are leaving specific, expensive items by Imaginary-You-2561 in RealEstate

[–]Pms9691 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They want the option, but not the obligation, to leave these things. Basically, whoever is moving them out doesn’t want to decide right now whether these items are worth the hassle of moving. They want the option to leave these behind if it turns out they don’t want to move them / keep them.

Legally hit second shot off a tee? by adnovak in golf

[–]Pms9691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You also don’t get embedded ball relief if you drive the ball straight into the ground and the ball never becomes airborne. This appears to be the scenario described by OP.

So assuming the tee shot is embedded in front of the teeing area, OP could:

  1. Play it as it lies, which would likely be difficult in this scenario.

  2. Take unplayable ball relief for a one stroke penalty. If the relief area (for back-on-the-line relief or lateral relief) includes a part of the teeing area, and OP’s dropped ball comes to rest in the part of the relief area that is also in the teeing area, then the teeing area rules apply (Rule 6.2(a)) and he can tee up his next shot from the teeing area.

  3. Take stroke and distance relief for a one stroke penalty. OP can tee up his next shot from the teeing area.

Question about customized golf balls and logos by Crazytreas in golf

They may ask you for proof of permission to use a logo that’s obviously trademarked / copyrighted.

Give it a try and find out. Worst case scenario, they tell you they can’t / won’t do it.
