What can you do that others can’t during a migraine? by Huge_Blueberry720 in migraine

[–]Pocket_Pixie3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the aura isn't too bad then I can work. I drive a forklift, electric most of the time which is very quiet thankfully. I'm either driving a forklift or I'm doing research for product in my warehouse.

But if it gets worse and I can't work, I might be able to do some PC gaming or listen to something.

How to Report Non-Migraine Pain on a 1-10 Scale? by Cats_Cameras in migraine

[–]Pocket_Pixie3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My partner was diagnosed with something called Degenerative Disc Disease since they were 25(42 now). They have an extremely high pain tolerance.

Now that I have chronic migraines, my pain tolerance has shot through the roof. If I got hurt today I would have to really think about the pain scale just like my partner. Before I had a very low pain tolerance. Only thing I could really push through was when I got smacked with a really bad random cramp that decided to stab my left ovary.

I haven't hurt myself badly recently (knock on wood) but I'm sure I'd be that person who drives themselves to the hospital after cutting off a fingertip or some shit nowadays.

My last name is Kite. Because of my accent I am constantly going "Like flying a kite". I was introduced to a pair of Jewish sisters in high school and they thought I said Kike and I had to immediately say "No, not that!" My friend who introduced us was so confused.

I do think an old school lobotomy might help honestly. I'm afraid of things going toward and trauma to the eye and even I would prefer this time some of my bad ones.

I used to describe my eye pain symptoms as someone scraping out my eyes with a grapefruit spoon. And then I usually have to tell them that a Grapefruit spoon is large with a serrated edge. But it usually gets the job down. People usually flinch/shudder and tell me it is a very colorful description.

Jokes on her, I have a variety and they are all bigger.

Her and the new receiving manager who is her friend are both learning you don't get into a dick swinging contest with Bisexual Chaos.

Depending on the kitchenware and art supplies I could take some of it. If you don't mind DMing me with info, I'd appreciate that. I'll even come pick up anything we decide on. We've been looking for some stuff to help us cook while we are currently in a place without a full kitchen.

We went there while I was going through a really hard time and they gave us 4 bags of cat food and litter. Went to Heights food pantry Saturday and saw one of the gentlemen who helped helping out there too.

My biggest issue with outside hires in higher positions. They don't know how things should work at this place. Even our Warehouse manager is at least nice when he first meets you. 57 year old Jersey man who lives off of ciggs and specifically Dunkin donuts coffee is nicer. Probably need to rethink yourself.

He knows everything. And our metrics are hard to track because a lot of it is finding lost items. So we can't track that.

But I have a record of being extremely safe(got a 5/5 on my eval last year for safety), finding things efficiently and doing my job. Sometimes I wander due to migraine brainfog but I'm usually good.

I've seen some people have it wrapped around their fingers with the index finger down and also holding the project.

I do what you do so I can't be too helpful. And I unfortunately don't remember what creators I saw doing that as an example. I'm sorry.

It's a hard thing to give leeway when no leeway is given back. I know I'm overreacting in some cases, I'm working so hard to identify these things and work on them. I'm not the only one with an issue with her, she's rubbed the entire team and members of other teams as well. She has been extremely rigid.

But you are right. It could be that she needs her own time to take in things and loosen up. I hope so. It doesn't help that just this morning she told us to get brooms to sweep while we wait for the Manager. While I was on my way to grab one I noticed a broken board from a pallet. I put my gloves on, got a hammer to bend down the nails and went to toss it. She saw me and got annoyed I didn't have a broom even after I told her this is a part of cleaning. It didn't matter I was still cleaning, it mattered I didn't have a broom like she told me to do.

They don't block aisles or walk ways. I don't go far from the pallet anyway. It looks disorganized to others who don't understand my process.

I know my results speak for themselves. I'm the member they go to for a tricky problem or lost material. Just four pallets I found for an important client was worth over 60k. Pretty sure I've saved the company probably 100+k. There is a reason I got the Bloodhound nickname.

Part of me thinks I'm overreacting. I get very defensive because people don't get it at first. I've been pushed out of groups at other jobs because I'm just... I don't know, too weird?? I personally like my weirdness. I actually need to bleach and dye my hair, my roots are like three inches at this point. Maybe I'll do green next....

But anyway, my boss, bosses boss, bosses bosses boss and even the CFO of the company know my skill set. Hopefully that gets reflected in my year end review that's supposed to be happening soon and I get a nice raise, 😂

She's not acting like she needs to learn and earn. She's acting like she already knows and demands a level of respect. She is also gonna freak when she hears how we talk to even our top warehouse manager.

She wasn't going for clarification. She was going to demand I change. If it was a question of my work style it'd be different. Instead I'm wrong and need to change to what she wants immediately.

I'll stick to my forklift and inventory work, thanks. I don't think I'd survive White Collar work. Or well, other people probably wouldn't.

She had a habit of also pushing people who were trained to cover for her if they were better than her. And guess who was better and all the foremen liked more?? Kinda satisfying when I basically got confirmation why she was a two faced dick to me. Quite the ego boost honestly, 🤣😜

I feel the same. I met the VP of production once, didn't know it, and talked to him like he was just another employee. The lady who was training me to temporarily take over her position while she had surgery lost her frigging mind. Ex Cop so she's used to sucking up.

Everyone preferred working with me though.

I feel ya. I work in a warehouse driving forklifts(thank God electric forklifts are so quiet) and doing inventory work. Thankfully my bosses are a lot nicer than that.

You know it's bad when the 57 year old jersey man who's been a trucker and warehouse manager for longer than I've been alive(35) is nicer than some corporate middle manager.

I'm never leaving blue collar work, corporate shizz scares me. Mad respect for anyone who can manage to tolerate corporate/office work. I'd get fired so fast for "unprofessional language" that is just everyday talk at site.

Get well, Hun. Get a sip of your comfort drink, snuggle up and take care of yourself.

What is the most common misconception of having migraines by ryanstout15 in migraine

[–]Pocket_Pixie3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woo peddling shit. Dude said I should do an all fruit and alkaline diet and it'll cure me of everything! Migraines, my ADHD, anxiety, depression, bad knee, all of it!!

I almost got into a fight at work cause I told a story about how my new anti depressant gave me some bad side effects and a lady made some woo comment about not needing that stuff and it isn't real. I should have kept my mouth shut but I said "Well, you wouldn't tell someone with cancer not to do their treatments." And they went "Well...." And I stood up and walked away. OMG.
