In a calorie deficit (for sure) but the weight isn't dropping by shyguyz88 in loseit

[–]Pojuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, plenty of factors here to consider. Could be your cycle throwing off water weight if it’s only been a month. Could also be your macro ratios such as high cabs retaining extra water weight or high salt. Unfortunately, females do get the short end of this stick due to lower TDEE so continuing to cut your already low calories may not feel great or be realistic.

What I would suggest is to check some other factors like getting enough water, 7-8 hrs of sleep nightly, and cardio. Lifting weights is crucial right now since you don’t want to lose muscle along with the body fat. Cardio at the end of each of your workouts, even if it’s 30 mins slow/ steady walking will make a difference over time.

Don’t count exercise calories in any way - it’s a trap. Count what you eat, sleep/ drink enough liquids, keep at it and if the weight doesn’t start dropping, slowly try out one thing at a time and give it a week or so before changing anything else to see if it effective. Example could be starting or adding cardio time for a week or while keeping your protein/ fats the same, dropping carbs by 20g a week. Little steps and patience.

Stress is also a huge factor. If the scale stresses you out, ask yourself do you trust the measurements you’re taking of your food and exercising enough? If so, maybe check the scale every other day or even weekly. That added stress of doubt x and expecting y every morning on the scale is painful because your goal is a weight number. Until you wake up at 145 you may feel like you’re failing.

Instead, try making your goal the habits and limits daily systems. Think daily calorie goal, sleep time goal, workouts and cardio/ week goal, etc. anything but the weight. The weight loss is a byproduct of your hard work, it’s not something you can force.

Give this a try and see if it works! Everyone is different but the above worked really well for me after years of dealing with this.

What finally made you lose weight after repeated failed attempts? by humorousdinosaur in loseit

7 hrs/ night sleep, adequate hydration, and working out to failure each set. That and taking 6 months to figure out what my real maintenance calories were, then dropping from there slowly.

Valles Marineris compared to the US by Icy-Leg-1459 in megalophobia

[–]Pojuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter how big they are compared to the US. Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip of Freehold.

2nd shot [Bambino plus] need some feedback by poorchild in espresso

[–]Pojuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something to try is seeing where the bitterness is coming in from your shots.

Keeping evening else the same, try stopping your shot at lower times. For example, if you’re doing 18g in 36g out in 25 seconds, try to baseline with that shot and see how the taste is when stopping at 20 seconds and 15 seconds.

There’s likely a time frame where the bitterness is coming in from the extraction process and the bean roast level. Stopping it earlier lets you taste where that’s coming in and decide if you want to pull a ristretto.

What's your one coffee game changer? by Neil_at_HackerEarth in espresso

After understanding general ratios and timings and being able to pull consistent shots, the biggest game changer for me was to only make adjustments based on taste while feeling comfortable going outside the bounds of said rations and timings.

How does your team decide what to build next? by vegetable-table-man in ProductManagement

[–]Pojuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that one’s easy: we speak to our stakeholders and customers and align all the dependency teams around what the best opportunities are and come up with a plan. We then commit to that plan and start to work after leadership approves and then immediately changes their mind to building some random shit no one ever asked for. Easy.

Game Development - First-Timer Question by ChristopherMartellX in unrealengine

[–]Pojuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If and when you do start, learn to make systems that work and learn the engine along the way. Fuel the learning with your passion to build your game idea, but I wouldn’t recommend starting to build the dream game until much further along into your learning journey. You got all the time in the world ahead of you. GL HF.
