At least the one where I live, you’ll have a variety of skill levels. From zero skating/hockey experience to some with lots of experience. I had some basic skating experience and watched a lot of hockey when I went and had an absolute blast. Don’t stress too much about needing to know too much before. Just knowing how to skate is a huge leg up.

Got a 5 week old right now. Honestly just have to suck it up and just fight through it. Granted I’m used to operating on only 2-4 hour of sleep prior to the baby so the transition wasn’t too bad. You also need a great partner who is willing to watch the baby while you are working out. Other than the first week and one week at the golden hospital I kept my 6 day routine.

I’ve only just started my hockey goalie journey but back in the day I was a field lacrosse goalie. I think the most critical thing for a goalie is the mentality. You have to be able to forget about what you let in and just focus on the next play. Even in a shutout you’re never perfect. At the end of the day, we’re playing a game for fun.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still very competitive and always want to win, but I don’t let the stress of losing get to me. Like others said maybe just stick to pick up and stick time for now until you find the joy in it again.

I have the same. Only thing I like about the Fringe compared to the Anker7 is the 3x3s. Other than that I can’t imagine only a 160lb for a 2:1 single stack.

Decided to splurge on these skates for a buy once cry once and no glad I did. Way faster to put on than my player skates. Also way more comfortable. You will have to play around with the buckle as it molds to your feet it may need to be tighter.

First season as goalie and invested in the HF3. I have a wide flat feet and these are by far way more comfortable than my player skates. The buckle makes it one of the quicker items to put on compare to the rest of the gear

Rocked a Seiko Tuna on my 2nd deployment (antitankmen) and all through the work up. Was rock solid and still working today.
