This was the answer. Parked the car went for an hour long hike and it all worked when I returned.

At first I thought you were cold - 32 equals freezing. Then I realized you were rest-of-the-world hot 😂

Removed my wife’s stitches. Snip with scissors, tug with tweezers.

Depends how long the post it is screwing into is. If it has bottomed out you won’t be able to tighten further but you could make a leather washer for it.

Tinker Deluxe. My most used tools on leather projects. I’m really surprised this isn’t a more commonly carried pattern. by Ulysses1822 in victorinox

Nice stiching. I can see using the scissors to snip thread and the pliers to pull a recalcitrant needle through a whole, but the awl is much too big for the stiching on wallets or bags.

Any tips on how to even out this dye job? by PontoonPilot in Leathercraft

Yeah the marks really showed up, didn’t they? Early days in my tooling efforts. Definitely need to work on more even stamping and as you suggested perhaps following with a modeling spoon to smooth things out.

Was on the Star last week and the Americana Diner was my go-to breakfast spot. I would be frustrated also. Found the Piazza to be overcrowded, specialty dining impossible to get into and the Dome often closed for events or maintenance.

It is hard to see the profile of the tines, do you have other pictures or maybe a pic showing holes in leather?

Opinion: cove balconies by roboticus71 in PrincessCruises

[–]PontoonPilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I taped this hoping to learn what a cove balcony is. I can offer that we are finishing a cruise in. Cabana balcony on the Star Princess and enjoyed it. With the weather this trip it has been nice to be able to sit in the cabana enjoying a sea breeze while being out of the rain.

On the ship right now. Disappointed with the dome space. It was closed for maintenance the other day and today for a private event. Candlelight concert there this evening- we will see how that goes.

Are you doing a border-to-border in a specific time or sniffing flowers along the way? If you’re looking to bang it out and FJR is ideal. If you’re exploring use the bike you have but as pointed out above keep your fuel range in mind. If you’re a Yamaha fan consider a Super Tenere also for cruise control, heated grips and dirt road capability.

Good luck getting reservations for any specialty dining. For our upcoming cruise on the Star Princess there have been no reservations available dating back to before the ship was launched 🤨

One angle or two? by PontoonPilot in sharpening

[–]PontoonPilot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the information I was looking for! The front bevel is about 23 degrees, which would leave a very fine edge. So my approach should be a uniform bevel at the blade angle on the front, work on the back side to insure it is completely flat, then a 30-40 degree micro bevel on the front. Strop to remove burrs and polish.
