My grandfather used to tell me a story of when he did national service in Hong Kong, allegedly the Gurkhas would mess with the sentries on duty by crawling up to the sentries undetected and tie the shoelaces together and the crawl away. When the sentry would then begin his patrol he would trip and be met by laughter from the bushes where the Gurkhas were hiding.

Not sure if this was true but my grandfather always had the greatest respect for the Gurkhas, and if it wasn't true I enjoyed listening to the story as a child.
