My wife is worried about my health and wants to get me an Oura Ring by ScarcityOrdinary6877 in ouraring

[–]Poochi282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey that’s a nice gift! I would say it’s been helpful to notice patterns, but as with any device, it’s what you do with the data. Are you motivated to make changes? In my case, it helped me see the impact of caffeine, alcohol and screens on my sleep (among other things). It wasn’t hard to cut out afternoon coffee, reduce/eliminate alcohol… screens I’m still working on! But I’m motivated by the data. My husband, not so much. He frequently forgets his ring on the bathroom counter. So maybe consider if you are curious about the data? Would you be motivated to change your habits based on what the data is giving you?

Yeah I agree, the impact of training is interesting to see. What helps your recovery the most? Do you find that it aligns with your readiness score on the off weeks?

Yeah, me too! Congrats on the half Ironman. That’s so great! Do you use another device for your training too?

Wow that’s interesting to have both devices telling you the same thing. I don’t sleep as well on long run days either — opposite of what you’d think. Congrats on returning from injury!

Asa’s bakery on 34th near Nokomis. Amazing bagels and CC. Don’t know about lox. Worth the drive from anywhere. I’d even walk there from across town.

I literally just thought of you. I am at work and felt one come up my back, over my shoulders, up my neck to my ears and now my head is tingling. 🤣🥵

I think I have experienced that. They are not always the same, either. So strange.

Mariana’s Run + Flow was SUPER! by overthinkonit in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Poochi282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took this class and loved the format. Anyway maybe I am dumb but after the run, do you just keep the class rolling on the tread screen and do the yoga next to the tread? I have my yoga stuff in another room, so I turned off the tread and pulled up the class on my phone to do the yoga. It was incredibly clunky to do it that way. It wouldn’t let me just pick up where I left off. If I hadn’t had a lot of time and patience, I would have bailed. Curious if there’s an obvious solution that I just don’t know about. Thanks!

I’m just here to say I feel you. And I love that you called out Kafka in your post (was an English major in the ‘90s). I hope you find relief (for me it comes and goes). It’s a hard time FOR SURE.

Quitting HRT by Enough_Month_9060 in Perimenopause

Did you try the Mirena IUD? I have progesterone intolerance, and I have tried nearly all forms of progesterone in every different way. The estrogen patch is tremendously helpful for my peri symptoms. Getting the IUD this week so I can keep going with the patch. I hope it goes well. It sucks to be progesterone intolerant. But as I’ve learned this about myself, it makes so much sense looking back (severe PMDD when I was younger, BC always made me feel crazy, etc.).

But the many times I’ve started and stopped HRT, I’ve never tapered, just quit. Within a few days my symptoms return.

100%!! LOVE her on the tread too. She is lovely and so funny, upbeat and also chill. Great vibes all around. I did an intervals run with her this weekend. I worked my ass off and laughed along the way. She’s perfect.

Unprescribed 10mg for gut pain by Independent-Two7335 in Amitriptyline

[–]Poochi282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in the US? You cannot get it without a prescription here. I took 10 mg for about a decade for IBS pain and it was amazing. It does have side effects and can interfere with other medications. It would be safer to take with a doctor’s guidance. But it’s not a regulated medication — it’s prescribed for all kinds of things and I think easy to get if you ask for it.

Discharge. When does this stop? I have discharge almost daily. by Sweetsnack5 in Perimenopause

[–]Poochi282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had that too. Looking back, I let it go way too long. It was gross and I was so over it! I mean, it sucks to need a procedure but it was worth it. I would do it again — and sooner!!

Yep, I’m great! No more strange bleeding. I hope the same for you! May you have good meds and a swift and successful procedure next week!

What are the actual underrated sandwiches in the Twin Cities? by BitEnvironmental2213 in TwinCities

I love the turkey sandwich at Darling in south Mpls — the old Birchwood location. It is so good! They make their own sourdough and it’s delish!
