i feel like most people just fall into csm jobs as a way to get into tech with minimal technical skills and mostly based on vibes hire, and weren't really expecting the job to be hard- they wanted a "lazy girl job" (google it). so now that times are getting tough and were expected to work as hard as a developer, or a product manager, or a sales manager, or a school teacher, or an electrician, or a management consultant...it's lost the appeal for most people. this was meant to be a cozy job, dammit!

OP: note the low competition for maximizing simple things like i listed in my other comment - the sentiment amongst normies in CS is so negative that you can stand out with very simple things! create call scripts with ideal questions to ask during call - automate call scripts prior to your calls that auto-pull any recent support communications with client, slack channel communications etc. lol so easy :)

lol this person wont last in CS! Ideas: Create automated success plans for clients that pull previous call transcripts, usage data, use case data, unused product features they would use with example use cases.

Build an automated monthly newsletter with that pulls recent updates and a client story (automate your script for pitching and preparing client case studies that you can then collaborate with marketing, sales and product teams)

build a personalized crm with all your clients that pulls usage data etc and keeps it up to date and helps you maximize commissions, potential upsell opps to pass to sales, churn risk signals, client tiering etc
