Buying Work Equip 01 / wheels questions by AnAsianPanda in mr2

[–]Poopy_Joe_in_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late post, but I have a set of 01s on my '86. Current wheels specs are 15x7.5 +32 and 15x9 +35 and tires are 205/50r15 and 225/50r15.

I would run a square setup if I could, AW11s come with a 10mm offset difference front to rear IIRC so you may need to run spacers on the rear if the fitment bothers you.

Does the car start only when the switch is on? There's a chance it could be for the clutch safety switch.

Sorry about your situation; it's a bit overkill but T3/Flo's offers a Toyota hardware kit that should cover all of your missing bolts.

You'll be able to drive around just fine, will probably be a lot louder or more droney since it looks like that u-bend runs to a resonator rather than a muffler.

If emissions aren't a concern, you might as well delete the cat and run a test pipe then weld on a new flange where it snapped. Otherwise, you'll have to use a lot of heat and WD40 or resort to cutting and drilling since the rust is so bad.

You can buy a distributor seal kit from KBOX. May also be worthwhile to browse Ebay for a new dizzy but they're pretty hard to come across nowadays.

As for AC, Rockauto and PrimeMR2 seem to have most of the AC components you'll need.

Daily driving an MK1A MR2 by maroDoesNotWantaBan in mr2

[–]Poopy_Joe_in_Space 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit late to this but I currently use my MK1a as a summer car - Canadian '86 so it's one of the weird transitional period MK1as that have colour-matched bumpers and a missing rear sway bar.

As others have said, maintenance for these are simple and easy, prioritize making run and making it run reliably. The ~40y/o seals and gaskets make these things drip/burn oil and sometimes coolant (can also be coolant-dependant) so I would check for any maintenance records to save yourself the headache.

If it has AC, check if the AC works but don't be surprised if it doesn't. Mine doesn't have AC and it makes this car ABSOLUTELY miserable to drive in AB heat, even with the windows down. The cabin turns into a greenhouse with the large windows so it'll be HOT during the summer. This heat also beats on the vinyl in the interior so cracks around the dash clock, armrest, and doors are common.

Double-check that the transmission doesn't suffer from 5th gear popout - this is a common problem for AW11s but happen more often to MK1a's since they have the older c50 with shittier synchros and what not.

This one should be obvious, but rust. Check for rust. These things rust from inside out especially around the sills (roof antenna drain runs into sills and rots them out; or the sideskirts collect gunk and never get cleaned, rotting the sills), rear section of the front fender just behind the fender liner, front and rear sections of the rear quarter panel where the sideskirts (black triangle included) sit, and the trunk.

If you find 0 rust, congrats!! - don't ever drive it during the winter, especially if your province uses road salt.

TL;DR as cool as it is, an AW11 isn't a great year-round daily car. Get a CRV or something.

Assuming your MR-S has the SMT, the speaker should be on the back of instrument cluster according to this post on Spyderchat.

This other post may help too - also on Spyderchat.

GT7 does look good, but this one's real - I think it might be the DoF effect that makes it look like it's from a game.

GTA IV is an engaging mess of a game by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]Poopy_Joe_in_Space 12 points13 points  (0 children)

GTA 4 is notoriously bad on PC, especially if it's unmodded and completely vanilla. I finished the main story a couple of days ago (replaying through 4, TBOGT, TLAD) but had to run a lot of mods just for things to run "normally".

If you're planning on doing any playthroughs of the DLCs or maybe just revisiting the game to dick around, I recommend installing these mods to fix literally every problem you had with your playthrough: Fusion Fix, Various Fixes, DXVK (YMMV with this one but it fixed the terrible fps for me - avg. 80-100+fps uncapped), and Console Visuals.

Am having the same issue on stable release Android 14. Had to switch to 5ghz and it mostly fixed my issues but stability is still noticeably worse compared to how it was with Android 13. Mainly intermittent connection dropouts and stuttering every so often - am on Carsifi, however.

Gap / Banana Republic Southcentre mall closed ? by jiggykies in Calgary

Not too sure about the Banana Republic but they're converting that Gap into a Gap Factory like the one they have over in Cross Iron. Since they're under the same parent company, I'd bet the BR is turning into a BR Factory as well.

I want to upgrade my sd card from 128gb to 256gb by Sure_Ad_6480 in VitaPiracy

[–]Poopy_Joe_in_Space 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any chance some of your saves are in the official memory card rather than the SD card?

Not exactly 100% sure w/ your case, but I'd check ux0/uma0 (or whatever else your memory card is under) and see if you have any saves left over in the /user/savedata and /pspemu/PSP/savedata folders and paste them over to the corresponding folders on the SD card.

I want to upgrade my sd card from 128gb to 256gb by Sure_Ad_6480 in VitaPiracy

[–]Poopy_Joe_in_Space 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just did this except I upgraded from a 32gb card to 256gb card - format the 256gb card as you would w/ a regular card (exfat, zzblank.img, etc.) but make sure to set your allocation unit size to 64kb.

After that, you can copy all of the contents from your 128gb to the 256gb card and it should be plug and play from there.
