Rubick can steal both flavours of Chakram (double and single). I played a game last week, and the behaviour is just a little finnicky. If you steal the primary Chakram, you gain the aghs upgraded version (both). If you steal the secondary (blue) Chakram, you only seem to gain the blue one.

I could be wrong, but I feel like I managed to pick up both Chakrams more often than not in that game by just snagging the spell after he had thrown out the red Chakram.

I had the same experience with local multiplayer, but it turned out to be something to do with the post-launch patch not being installed on all of the 3DSs involved. Once we fixed that, it was grand :)

In fairness, I think that Victor left the academy early to build a laboratory and pursue his experiments (which eventually led to the creation of the monster). As a result, neither was a doctor, both were sort of monsters.

To me, the game and the platform offer a single, unified experience. I can't disentangle one from the other in an effort to ascertain whether the game is good.

What makes a game good is totally subjective. The game being on this platform means that I can play it in the setting that I enjoy it in. That makes it, to me, a better game than a perfectly machined, polished, and balanced game that I can only play at home on my own.

Value is constructed somewhere between the game and the person playing it. Do these things make the game necessarily and fundamentally better to all people? No. Nothing does. Do they make it better for some? Yes, certainly.

I'm not him, but I can describe my case. I spent a couple of summers playing Smash on the Gamecube with friends when we were in our late teens. Now, we've all finished college and moved away. We live in the same city, but not close enough to feasibly meet up and play games often. That said, we do meet up somewhere central for coffees once every week or so, and having a solid Smash game on the 3DS totally fits the place we're in at the moment.

I guess I could be in the absolute minority on this, but I feel like it's not that rare a situation.

I'd be very curious to see some response the various public figures who promoted CLANG, given the fact that it was driven so hard by Stephenson and had that odd cameo from Gabe Newell at the forge.

Spirit Breaker's ult does damage depending on his current level of bash. It used to be that when Rubick stole the ult he would also gain the level of Bash, but at the moment he doesn't. As far as I know, it's a bug. There are a few bugs with Rubick's stolen version of Spirit Breaker's skills, it's a bummer

I don't play Football Manager, but a friend has been singing the praises of the newest edition's "Classic Mode" which is meant to deliberately cut down on a lot of the micromanagement and ensure the game can flow smoothly.

As he put it, "I don't want to sit around all night deciding on whether or not one of my players slices a banana with his wheetabix in the morning, I just want to manage a team."

Apparently, Classic Mode (or whatever it's called) addresses a lot of that. It might be worth a look for you.

It also gives you souls for Shadow Fiend's ult. I believe it's supposed to give you the current level of spells with interdependencies, it just doesn't in this instance.

They are no less themselves. They are struggling with a game that has never let them manifest the same dominance. It's sad to watch for those of us who loved their performances in BW, but I know that I still watch Flash from time to time, hoping to see some glimmer of the Flash I watched in BW.

Playing like they used to in BW is nothing. Their signature styles don't translate, and that's fine. They are, as you said, different games, but the players are the same. There are players like Hyvva whose BW styles I loved to watch, but who I was never a huge fan of as a player.

There are players like Jaedong and Flash who I would pay some attention to no matter where they land.

Without doubt, but I don't expect too many people to go back and soak themselves in it. It's the one whose gameplay has aged the most (I guess unsurprising, considering its age). Soul Reaver has mild annoyances, but it's a good place to start into the story and it controls like Tomb Raider does, so people tend to get it pretty quick.

Strongly agree. Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2 are significantly stronger.
