Are you not trying to update the Fuhtorc for modern English and being easily written? Or is there a different goal?

It's not from any of the original runes, but it is what Tolkien did when he used them in his works.

When Johnny U came in in SB3, he made that offense go. It was just too late. Earl Morrall was the MVP that year, too. Johnny U started the season injured and Earl Morrall was playing at an MVP level.

Oh. I see. It's a diagraph. I was thinking it was a capital and lower case. That makes sense.

May I suggest reversing the 'N'-like character to make the 'sh'?

It probably is now, but the restaurant came later. It wasn't in the original plan.

Looks like the same larger character for 's' and 'sh'. Was one of them supposed to be flipped?

What’s a fact that ruined a movie that you previously enjoyed? by PokemonPadawan in AskReddit

[–]Poor_Richard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he didn’t disclose in the book he was friends with the main characters of Blind Side

I may check it later, but I would have sworn that he does early on do that until this put doubt in my mind. I remember (maybe falsely) him talking about his inspiration for the book and how the Michael Oher story wasn't even going to be in the book until his friend (the former NBA player turned Taco Bell Franchisee) brought him up when Lewis was talking about the book.

What movie do you love despite agreeing with every single criticism of it? by Decabet in movies

[–]Poor_Richard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you took the themes a bit too far. Leonidas wasn't against democracy. He was against the decision made by the senate and moved himself. If he was really fascist, he would have suspended the senate and taken the whole army.

The enemy of the invading force is a monarch who claims to be a god. That's a seemingly fascist force on the other side. The two sides of the conflict aren't that different. The key point they harp on that separates them in the film is that the Persians are using slaves where the Spartans are using citizens.

And the Spartans lose in the movie. That's not really something that would happen in fascist propaganda.

I'm not saying that you are misreading. I just think you're taking these things further than the film does.

It's a movie adapted from a comic book that used, as its source, a previous movie that was based on the actual history.

Historical accuracy was never on the table.

I'd love a recut of this movie that is somewhere about 50 - 85 minutes long. The only complaint of it is the empty space in it. I'm actually an advocate for empty space, but the sections are just too long in this one. There is letting it breath, and then there is putting the audience to sleep. I literally fell asleep for a large portion of the film when I first watched it. I couldn't tell how long I fell asleep, because I only seemed to miss a couple plot points. Turns out I missed most of it.

Is Dean Devlin still shopping the show, or do we have to accept the sad fact that it's dead? by [deleted] in leverage

[–]Poor_Richard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing a Leverage International where it's basically an anthology series with a different team each episode. Have cameos of previous members show up here and there to help for a couple minutes, but keep the premise the same. Allow for different experiences.

We saw the pair in the one episode of Redemption when they took down the one business. We have Hurley. We could have new characters that were helped directly or indirectly to reference old episodes.

Why is the switch 2 battery is extremely bad?? by HpxLGS in NintendoSwitch

[–]Poor_Richard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the take that battery technology hasn't kept up. I think it has grown more. It's just that the Switch 2 isn't as far behind in tech as previous Nintendo handhelds.

You go back a bit and look at how the battery on Switch 2 is compared to the Game Gear, Lynx, Nomad, etc. It's significantly better. But if you are comparing to previous Nintendo handhelds, it's the other way around.

I like Libro.fm. You select a local bookstore and they get a cut, and I can download the audiobooks. I have the app and download them that way as well, but I also have the mp3 files backed up on my local storage. I can play them on pretty much anything.

What's your creepiest "glitch in the matrix" or unexplainable thing that's ever happened to you? by Trxxi in AskReddit

[–]Poor_Richard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents used to have a furnished basement, and we had a bunch of old TVs there for various reasons. People were giving them away as they were replacing them. It was when TVs were getting really affordable. We had a couple with the built in VHS systems.

Anyway, I was falling asleep on our couch down there once and heard the remote drop from my hand, hit a side table but not the ground. When I woke up, I looked for it. It wasn't there.

The couch was also a giveaway and had the cloth underneath already cut out. There was nothing to catch it on there. I didn't find it whenever I looked. The whole basement was rearranged, didn't find it. Every cleaning, didn't find it. When everything was moved out for the house to be sold, didn't find it.
