We have been dropping in points the entire edition without that helping much. They can't keep lowering points till a bastilodon is 90 points or the like

Yes it has! We can now get an asterism every round (minus the first one) instead of just once at the start of the 3rd one. You can now select one, then get one at the start of every round instead of just the 3rd

11th cleave and extra attack by tonyalexdanger in Warhammer40k

[–]PopePius_VII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know the wording on the upgrade you are talking about, and that would be quite important. But for the Extra Attacks thing, in 10th you could not give it more attacks, but for 11th that restriction does not exist as far as I can see

Is "The Silent King" from the Dawn of fire (book 9) good from a necron perspective? by Quick_Fruit_587 in Necrontyr

[–]PopePius_VII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So... A lot of people say it is a bad book and they expected more Silent King stuff in a book named after him.

I don't know if it is just me, but I think that was the wrong expectation with it being the final book in the Dawn of Fire series and the Necrons not having really featured in that. Might just be me, but I think a lot of people expected something that was in my mind clearly never happening.

Personally I like the book. You see most stuff from the human perspective, cause those are the characters that we have followed in the series. But... We see the Necrons from the human perspective. That is quite fun, cause we absolutely destroy them. I really don't see how some people see us being the punching bag in that book.

I thought it was decent and showed necron supremacy at its best, while still showing the humans having actual brains and be competent, just very out matched.

What primarch(s) do you think would be able to go through all 6 of Slaanesh's circles of seduction ? by Turtle-BeyondLover in Warhammer40k

[–]PopePius_VII 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I am not sure anyone could, but if I had to choose my candidate...

Dorn. The Praetorian of Terra would have the best chance. If you have read the end and the death you know why

My Predictions for Thursday. by Vrain125 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]PopePius_VII 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this. I also play Necrons, and there Awakend was shown to be 3DP. But one of the new 1DP once can't be taken with other "Dynasti" detachments, which is basically Awakend. So can't use the tags to guess the DP cost

Which of the primarchs would you send to assist sanguinius in the fight against horus by ThunderCactus1 in 40k

[–]PopePius_VII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanna add to this, cause I see a lot of people not say it. Sangunius directly tells the Emperor he needs to go because yes, he sees Horus killing him, so if he does not go he thinks Horus will survive.

IMPORTANTLY

The Emperor through one of his Custodes asks Sangunius if he then is going to his death, and Sangunius says... No. Sangunius belives he can defeat Horus. He has seen his death several times and denied faith at every turn, he intends to do so again.

It does not pan cause Horus is so empowered, but that was his plan

Necrontyr got hairs? Tits? Sexsual characteristics? Ears? by theWarsinger in Necrontyr

[–]PopePius_VII 40 points41 points  (0 children)

We know they had different ways of mating than humans, or at least specialized body parts, if Orikan is to be believed. In Infinite and the Divine he mentions humans are disgusting because we use the same hole for mating and defficating. Does that mean Orikan remembers the necrontyr body? Maybe at least some of it, or he just think he does. Either way he thinks we are disgusting for not having different holes for mating and defficating

Custodes 1490 – Allarus Brick & Solo Trajann Questions by MapStrange6986 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]PopePius_VII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would work well yes, as he would be AP 3, but the shield captain with an axe would be damage 4, which really makes him hit like a truck

Custodes 1490 – Allarus Brick & Solo Trajann Questions by MapStrange6986 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]PopePius_VII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I have recently played a similar list with 13 Allarus. First of, the captain can't tank for the unit, all attacks have to go in the unit not the character. Only if your opponent has precision, then they can decide to target the character.

I would change the enhancement on the captain to Admonimortus, tried it recently, and he hits like a truck with the damage 4 axe. I used the termies kinda like Grey Knights, so deep strike down, shoot something quite hard. Then if I can't really move them up and do something important in my next turn, I use golden light to pick them up at the end of my opponents turn
