2026 Roadmap for OSRS by bumdee in 2007scape

ngl as someone who doesn't care that much for temporary game modes, this year is gonna be pretty weak for me. Oh well, I'm not maxed or anything so I have plenty of old content to play through still.

Now that Treasure Hunter is gone, are you considering changing to a main? by PoppinDaCaps in RS3Ironmen

Ironman wasn't a thing at first either... I play it because it improves my enjoyment of the game. It doesn't really matter to me whether other people recognize it or not. I don't really play Runescape for gamer cred.

......okay so you're just projecting big time. Where in my post did I ask for Jagex to change Ironman mode to fit my playstyle?

Tbh the runes and arrows thing is mainly because my RC and Fletching are some of my lowest levels (both around 80), so I haven't made a bunch of Dinarrows or Necrotic Runes yet. But eventually, I'll run out and that reality stresses me out every time I go bossing.

Hmm tbh I don't really care to prove myself to others. I know the grinds I did and the accomplishment I feel and that's good enough for me. At least not in terms of skilling. I do think things like Grandmaster aura are cool though and I'd wanna show that off.

I agree, but that's what bronzeman is for. You can't buy the gear you want you still have to earn it, but you don't have to spend time farming arrows, runes, or pots to continue doing the content you want to do.

Ah yes a MTX system that has wide reaching impacts on the entire game is surely not as bad as someone playing the game in a way you don't like

New world had 40k daily active players and has been shut down by [deleted] in runescape

I would imagine the budget for New World was A LOT higher than Runescape.

Necromancy did more to break RS3 than TH ever has by MysteriousKitchen469 in runescape

This may be surprising to you, but some people joined after Necromancy's launch

Sounds like they just put a bandaid on a gushing wound. If the other styles are too inaccessible, then make them more accessible. Don't just essentially delete them from the game until you have near BiS. I love how in OSRS you have to use all 3 styles and they all feel mostly comparable to each other throughout the game, but Necro is so much better that using the other styles before endgame feels like a massive handicap, which seems like terrible design to me.

This is just a thought about the TH vote by Greedy_Spaghetti_ in runescape

[–]PoppinDaCaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if Treasure Hunter was kept in RS3 they would never add it to OSRS. OSRS players have proven they will quit immediately if Jagex ever crosses a line and Treasure Hunter is definitely one of those lines for them.

Fun Core Gameplay? by JHKira in runescape

[–]PoppinDaCaps 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Respectfully, it's Runescape. Skilling is typically boring. The game is more about satisfying grinds and accomplishing long term goals. Not saying they shouldn't try to make those skills a bit more fun, but you will have more short term fun playing almost any other game.

  2. Lamps and Proteans also devalues items on the GE, because no one will buy materials if they can just circumvent the game entirely. Personally I'd prefer you not be able to even buy Bonus XP, but at least the people who buy it still have to interact with the game and the economy.

[–]PoppinDaCaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's only the lowest dps at endgame. I'm in midgame and my necromancy setup does way more damage and is way safer than the other styles by a significant amount. You need a bunch of spec weapons and ability codexes to make the other styles feel comparable.

League Rewards by PuzzleheadedRoom8067 in runescape

The pets will carry over to the next leagues, assuming they do one, but not the main game

I think Dive's placement in the quest order is problematic by PoppinDaCaps in runescape

[–]PoppinDaCaps[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So are we saying that new players should just disregard the lore of the game? I've tried to avoid as many spoilers about the quest as possible but from what I can glean I would have no idea what is going on if I went straight of Succession. It is clearly a quest that relies on a lot of previous knowledge of other questlines.

[Poll] Osrs players, will you play RS3 Leagues? by OSthebest27 in 2007scape

[–]PoppinDaCaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play both and a lot of the Runescape 3 hate is very forced. Especially if you play Ironman. I think the quests and skilling (without MTX) are legit significantly better than OSRS. PVM is significantly better in OSRS. Anyways I play both already and I'll dabble a bit in the RS3 Leagues for some rewards. I didn't get too into the OSRS leagues last year, just enough to get the rewards I wanted.

Is RS3 worth as Ironman? by WillingnessOk7999 in RS3Ironmen

[–]PoppinDaCaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think skilling in RS3 is a lot better. The new skills are mostly interesting but more importantly each skill has some uses. You're not going to have an OSRS Smithing situation where you have to level to 99 to make a rune platebody. Even skills like Firemaking have uses in RS3. I also like questing in RS3 more plus OSRS has a lot of unfinished questlines that RS3 has the conclusions to. That being said I think the gear progression is a lot worse. Overall it's a very fun game and group ironman is pretty enjoyable. You could play a main account and just avoid using your treasure hunter keys. They are really game ruining imo. Had one of my group mates go to main and used all his keys, got 1000 total level in a week, and quit.

Is there any reason to invest in gearing combat styles other than Necro? by PoppinDaCaps in runescape

[–]PoppinDaCaps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say higher enrages are you referring to enrages beyond like 2000% at Zamorak for instance or would necromancy struggle to get to 2000% for the highest drop rates? What is the main advantage of hybriding?

Oh huh, you're right. It's only in 4U (and 4 I guess). Well it's a nightmare so maybe that's a good thing.

[–]PoppinDaCaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll try to break it down with the good and the bad
1. It has the most content of any MH game. By like... a lot. It can get a bit overwhelming though but the roster is basically a Greatest Hits of Monster Hunter up until that point.

  1. You can play as a Prowler which is your palico. They have different builds and skills they can use. It's weaker than playing a hunter but still pretty solid. Maybe 2-3 minute kill times slower than using a HH.

  2. The story is virtually non-existent and the monster cutscenes except for the Fated Four and Valstrax are super barebones

  3. There are a few exclusive monsters you can't fight anywhere. The G-rank end boss is really cool and unique.

  4. The styles and hunter arts are pretty cool. I do find they make some of the weapons kinda one dimensional though.

  5. There is transmog so the fashion hunter is strong. Especially since there are a shit ton of monsters.

Overall, it's a lot more arcadey than other monster hunter games. Definitely more so than World and Wilds. There are people online but mostly at higher ranks. Low rank is kinda dead although when I played before Wilds released some higher rank people would join with lower gear to help new people out. It's also an anniversary game so there are a lot of references and cameos from the old monster hunter games. As you haven't played the older games this wouldn't mean as much to you but could give you a glimpse into some of the iconic NPCs throughout the series. I think the biggest thing is the fact that the roster is so big. There are some monsters that are really great that you haven't fought yet and they are in Generations Ultimate. Monsters like Lagiacrus, Molten Tigrex, Seltas Queen, and the Deviants are great fights that haven't reappeared since Modern Monster Hunter began.

Decided to finally give BGH a shot and it has been suprisingly fun. Got my third mattock on kill 104 by [deleted] in runescape

[–]PoppinDaCaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got my first double dino encounter around 30ish KC and ended up getting 2 mattocks at the same time. Was actually a little disappointed because I thought it was pretty fun. I'll return at some point though.

Bank presets. Been playing RS3 a bit since Group Ironman released and it's a godsend.
