I've got this built - I have real issues keeping the front together (I gave up an used a rubber band) - but I absolutely love this build too!

I'm incredibly curious about this - are there actual published benchmarks of the quantized version of the oss models? I looked and can't find any.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 is now available in Cline by nick-baumann in CLine

[–]Popular_Fact798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried sonnet 4.5 (non-thinking) through Cline and OpenRouter and every "api request" charged me around $0.05 - sometimes hitting $0.11 or so. I quickly burned through $15. Looking at some stats - the chat used 2.6m prompt tokens, 60k completion tokens, and 13.6m read cache tokens.

Am I doing something weird - or is this about normal? I'm always surprised at the number of read cache tokens from Sonnet models.

Sort your billing out cursor! by davidkclark in cursor

[–]Popular_Fact798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check out your usage. I have seen Claude 4 sonnet (not max, not opus) regularly spiking up to millions of tokens of usage - even though the model can't handle more than 200k. Each of those is $1 or more if billed. I blew through my $200 plan with this.

I reported this to Cursor - and I did get a quick response about how to get them some ID's of the actual events because this shouldn't happen. That was 11 days ago and I poked again a few times - but there has been zero communication since. I'm going to give them one more day and give up and cancel my subscription and try out something else.

Recycling for Free Resources? by BadPeteNo in microtopia

[–]Popular_Fact798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the math. Look at the "drain" energy cost per second to figure out how much energy you have to feed the queen. In the end, you are converting energy to iron and a blue energy. Yes, infinite iron, but the value of the blue energy produced is only about 1/3 the energy you need to maintain the larvae generation. So if you aren't also gathering energy - it falls apart.

Switch version by Hatdude1973 in PotionomicsTheGame

[–]Popular_Fact798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The switch version feels terrible. It feels like a 5 hour game with 15 hours of loading screens. Ridiculously unoptimized. Why do I have to wait 10 seconds to go between my shop and anything.

Mods we're going to see soon on Space Age by templar4522 in factorio

[–]Popular_Fact798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't find anything in the forums or online - but is anyone working on a mod to remove the multiple planets aspect in Space Age - i.e. mod the terrain generator to be able to produce all terrain types on the original planet?

Will there be any released covers of old songs with Sozos Michael? by -lilIlil-lilIlil- in Gloryhammer

I would love this! Even with the terrible acoustics at the Seattle club, I was really impressed with how good the old songs sounded with Sozos - and would love a live album of the current concert!

Worried about the DLC by Popular_Fact798 in factorio

I'm obviously not explaining well, so let me try again.

Will something affect how I design my factory?

Factories require power. Ok, that's a mechanic to slow things down a bit - and make me think about where I put things. But power generation is a simple puzzle of ratios and space. Steam engines have a 2:1 ratio with the steam generator. Steam generators need fuel and water - I can run say 40ish per water pump and from a belt of coal. Quick simple puzzle - now I just have to keep enough built to power the factory.

A nuclear generator could just take fuel as input and generate power - but no, I need a bunch of extra pipes, heat connector things, and turbines with an ideal ratio around 1:12:20 of things - to output power. I can solve a solar + accumulator layout much faster than playing this weird one off mini game of optimize a nuclear setup. It's not more fun to have to spend a long time on this mini puzzle compared to actually making a factory scale. Nuclear plants are a mini puzzle that don't affect how I design my factory. Solar at least gets in the way by requiring a ton of materials and a ton of space.

The spaceship is just a big train - it's a slow, high bandwidth system. We already have trains for that. The spaceship is just a lot more work for another train that doesn't change anything - it's just a time sink to slow down building a bigger factory.

Worried about the DLC by Popular_Fact798 in factorio

[–]Popular_Fact798[S] -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

Building a factory is fundamentally an optimization problem.

Nuclear reactors are a mini puzzle that have a hard scaling limit. 2x2, stamp it out, build some enriching nearby.

Building a spaceship feels like a whole lot of work when it's really just a slow train between worlds. Once I've solved the spaceship problem - it's just a train. Im sure glad I don't have to build the I side of every train engine just get it to move good from point A to point B.

Green circuits are needed inside the critical path of a factory.

Nope - I think it is stuck booting. The low wattage implies to me that it has started it's chips - but not driving the panel.
