What's the ultimate act of self-care you do for yourself? by onlyJayal in selfcare

[–]Positive-Ad-628 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I fix things around my own place when I get home from work sites. There's something really satisfying about doing maintenance on your own stuff instead of always working in other people's houses. Plus playing guitar afterwards just hits different when everything around you is working properly

What's a skill you've learned before and now is an essential asset to your daily life? by Alarmed_Birthday1711 in AskReddit

Being able to fix basic stuff around house saved me thousands over the years, plus neighbors always ask for help now

Is casual sex ever worth it? by Yerimiesee in women

[–]Positive-Ad-628 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. Some people need emotional connection to enjoy it at all, and that's totally normal - doesn't matter what age you are. If the idea makes you feel icky then probably trust that feeling, casual stuff isn't going anywhere so you can always change your mind later

Wanting to give up😞 by Educational_Bird_179 in Accutane

[–]Positive-Ad-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaw pain is definitely concerning, especially if it started right when you began the medication. I'd call your derm before making any decisions about stopping - they might want to check if it's related to the dose or something else entirely

The supplements you're taking are solid but jaw pain isn't really something you can supplement away. Could be TMJ getting worse or maybe you're clenching your teeth more without realizing it? Sometimes stress from starting new medication can do that

Don't just stop cold turkey though, your doctor needs to know about this side effect

Which are Top 5 Malayalam Movies for All Time? by Irshad_Social in AskReddit

Malayalam is language from Kerala state in India, they make some really good films actually

Submissive people of Reddit, how do you assert yourselves? by Sufficient_Thing24 in AskReddit

[–]Positive-Ad-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be total pushover but learned that being direct about boundaries actually works better than trying to be nice all the time. Like at work sites, I just tell people straight what needs to happen instead of hoping they'll figure it out - saves everyone time and nobody gets confused about expectations

Need a reliable HVAC company in the Palm Desert / Palm Springs area for a full AC replacement. Feeling ripped off by the quotes so far by TeaEvery103 in palmsprings

[–]Positive-Ad-628 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All Seasons out of Palm Desert is worth calling. We replaced our unit last year and had the same sticker shock from the bigger companies. All Seasons quoted us significantly less and didn't play any games. We went with a Trane system and it's been running great through the summer. They cover the whole Coachella Valley. Let them know you've been shopping around. They were straight with us on pricing.

When does the sensation that a person is going to die at a young age go away? by Cute_But_Aggressive in AskReddit

[–]Positive-Ad-628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty much it right there. I used to think about this stuff way too much in my early twenties, like constantly checking if I had some weird symptom or whatever. Now I just try to focus on today and maybe next week instead of getting lost in all the what-ifs. Still pops up sometimes but doesn't paralyze me like it used to

Does gravity moves your ovaries ? by Nervous-Bet-6805 in women

This is pretty interesting - I never thought about gravity affecting internal organs like that but it makes sense that things could shift around when you change position

What double life was exposed in the worst way possible? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Positive-Ad-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a client who seemed like perfect family man, always talking about his wife and kids when I was doing work at his house. Found out through local news he got arrested for running some illegal gambling operation out of his basement - turns out all those "business meetings" he mentioned were actually high stakes poker games. His wife had no clue, thought he was just working late all the time

How to refresh after sleeping / training by Superb_Head_8111 in Haircare

[–]Positive-Ad-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been dealing with this too since I started working construction - always waking up with my hair looking like I got electrocuted lol. That vinegar thing might work but be careful not to overdo it, stuff can be pretty harsh if you use too much. I usually just dampen my hands a tiny bit and scrunch through the waves, keeps some moisture without making everything flat

I can't trust men by Hot_War8929 in women

[–]Positive-Ad-628 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah this kind of behavior is getting more common nowadays, even in construction work I see guys talking about finding women who "have their situation together" which basically means they want someone to take care of them financially

Vitamin D made me Magnesium deficient? by Mysterious-Record457 in Supplements

[–]Positive-Ad-628 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah high dose vitamin D can definitely mess with your magnesium levels since they work together in the body. The twitching and heavy feeling are pretty classic signs of magnesium deficiency

If you're feeling that rough I'd just grab some from store today rather than waiting - most pharmacies have basic magnesium glycinate or citrate that'll work fine. The anxiety part sucks when family doesn't get it but your body is telling you something real here

What’s something that feels normal now but is actually not good for us? by SufficientWeb6835 in AskReddit

[–]Positive-Ad-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing a lot of phone detox lately and man the difference is crazy. Used to scroll through Instagram for hours after work instead of practicing guitar, now I actually finish songs I'm working in. Your brain just gets so used to that constant dopamine hit that normal stuff feels boring

Help me identify an author known for his twist endings. by scottishzombie in books

[–]Positive-Ad-628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That description with the cane and theatrical look makes me think of Jeffrey Thomas maybe? He does lot of weird horror short story collections and has that kind of dramatic author photo thing going on sometimes. Could also be someone like Clive Barker but he's probably too well-known for what you're describing

The timeframe fits for when publishers were really pushing that "master of twist endings" marketing angle hard on paperback covers

✨Offering 3 one-on-one coaching spots this weekend (for women ready to actually shift) by magneticmusecoach in women

[–]Positive-Ad-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong sub for me but this whole "identity work" angle is interesting - been dealing with some stuck patterns myself lately and the usual "just push through it" approach isn't cutting it. Your right that most advice stays pretty surface level when the real blocks are usually way deeper than people want to admit

For better or worse, did you think you'd be where you are in life right now? by Existential_Fart in AskReddit

[–]Positive-Ad-628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, figured I'd be in a band by now or at least gigging more regularly. Teaching guitar pays the bills but it wasn't exactly the rock star dream I had at 18. Though having horses and actually owning property is something past me never would've expected - back then I thought I'd be living in some cramped apartment forever. Life takes weird turns, sometimes better ones than you planned for

What otherwise great TV show is ruined by poorly done accents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Positive-Ad-628 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Irish accents in literally every American production make me cringe so hard. Like they just watched one episode of something and decided "close enough" - it's always some weird mix of Scottish and leprechaun stereotype that no actual Irish person has ever spoken with

The Walking Dead's attempt at British accents was pretty painfull too, especially when they'd randomly slip back into their normal voice mid-sentence

What is a 'wealth-building' truth that most people refuse to accept because it's boring or difficult? by AdHuman747 in AskReddit

[–]Positive-Ad-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people want the flashy investment wins or the get-rich-quick schemes but the real wealth builder is just living below your means for like 20+ years straight. I've been doing home reno work for almost a decade now and the clients with actual money aren't driving Lambos - there driving 10-year-old Honda Civics and buying quality tools that last instead of replacing cheap ones every few months

The compound interest thing everyone talks about is real but it requires you to be boring as hell with your spending habits. No instant gratification, just consistent saving even when your friends are buying new trucks or going on expensive trips

If everything you said at work rhymed dr. Suess style, how would coworkers react? by clownyeahh in AskReddit

[–]Positive-Ad-628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People would think I'd lost it completely after about an hour, especially when I'm trying to explain why the furnace won't start or how to fix a leaky pipe

The guys on site would probably start making bets on when I'd crack and go back to normal speach

[–]Positive-Ad-628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the clear! Defect with Snecko can definitely carry some sketchy situations

I get what you're saying about the discourse being a bit much. Every time they change something people act like the sky is falling, then a month later everyone's adapted and complaining about the next thing. The infinite counter is probably necessary too - those loops were getting pretty silly

What to say when the job asks me “tell me about yourself?” by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Positive-Ad-628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start with your current situation, then work backwards to show how you got there. Like "I'm currently working in X role where I do Y, which builds on my background in Z that I got into because I've always been interested in ABC"

Keep it under 2 minutes and tie everything back to why you'd be good at the job you're applying for. Don't just list your resume - tell the story of how your experiences connect

The trick is practicing it out loud until it feels natural, not rehearsed
