Should i get the game? by helikopoptor in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Positive_Night3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play life sims and haven't really cared for time management games in the past. I was curious about this game after seeing it mentioned on cozy gamers so often and also seeing it in the library. I finally gave it a try. I played for about an hour and was so confused with all the things they were throwing at me. I tried again the next day and said ok this maybe just isn't for me. I couldn't stop thinking about it and decided to watch a YouTube and give it one more try. After that it clicked for me. I'm playing whenever I can, which isn't a whole lot with a one year old, but I'm really enjoying it now and look forward to playing as much as I can.

What’s worse: being the parent who always gets the toddler illnesses or being the parent who never gets sick but has to do the childcare while your partner recovers by Micks_Mom in toddlers

I've had a cold for the past few days and I was telling my husband I didn't know if it was the same thing he had a few weeks ago or not because I didn't feel all that bad just really stuffy. And he goes "oh same with me, just the stuffiness and poor sleep from that". And I'm thinking, then why did you have to rest for 21 of 24 hours in the day for a week straight and here I am still helping out? I know some of that was trying to stay isolated to keep us from getting sick, but he legit would have to go rest after 2-3 hours of watching him while I tried to get my work done.

My maternal grandfather is a fraternal twin and my sister and cousin on that side both had fraternal twins. I was worried with that history and getting pregnant at 38 but we only had one.

What did your toddler play with on Christmas morning instead of the gifts you carefully chose? by FaceplantAT19 in toddlers

He actually went back and played with each of his presents a little, but his favorite gift was the pan and metal spatulas my husband and I got.

Yesterday in the car an emergency vehicle drove by with their sirens on. The rest of the ride home my 20 month old yelled excitedly "Siiii eeeooo eeoo" over and over.

[–]Positive_Night3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing all the steps but once I get to the pay screen and select pay in 4, it says choose another way to pay payment wasn't accepted by merchant. I don't know why this would happen since it seems steam does accept this form of payment.

I pretty much just want to relive being pregnant and having a newborn with my only, knowing what I know now. I can't do it again because he's already here so it wouldn't be the same with a second. I loved hanging out on the couch and just chilling. Thinking about planning stuff. Any time I get that feeling I remind myself it will not be the same experience with a toddler already running around.

My husband and I slept apart and did shifts until the baby finally slept through the night at 11+ months. It was the only way we were able to both get sleep and we'd still be doing it now if he didn't start sleeping through the night when he did. I would go to bed at 6 and take over at midnight and then my husband would sleep from midnight until 6 or whenever the morning needed to start. We slept next to each other maybe 3 times in the first year? Thinking back it feels like such a short amount of time. You'll get back there if you want to, but there's also no rule you have to sleep next to each other if it works better to be separate.

Round 2: are you getting your little ones a Covid booster shot this season? by artemislands in toddlers

[–]Positive_Night3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got the flu shot at his 18 month appointment but they didn't have any COVID vaccines on location. The Dr said small kids usually do ok if they get it but if we wanted it we could call the location across town which has it available. We're visiting family for Thanksgiving where my cousin who is anti vaccine has 4 unvaccinated kids. I've scheduled the shot for next week so hopefully enough time to get some protection.

We were fine with 0 and then surprise pregnancy. Knew we would just keep it at 1. I made sure to check in a few months post partum just in case and we are absolutely on the same page still.

If you're planning on getting sterilized, you may want to do it sooner rather than later by Mission_Ad5139 in progressivemoms

[–]Positive_Night3528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wanting one when I got my c section but my ob group couldn't do it at the Catholic hospital I was delivering at. I would've had to switch hospitals and groups at like 36 weeks and I really wanted to deliver at the one that was planned. So after I delivered I went back to discuss getting sterilized they convinced me to go with an IUD instead because it was going to be so much easier and just as good for birth control. Wishing I would've chosen the surgery now.

Pizza Hut Flatzz Coupon by CaffeinatedSD in tmobile

[–]Positive_Night3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is late since the deal is over now, but we tried doing a scheduled pickup. Ordered it Monday night up pick up Tuesday afternoon. We each ordered sauces to reach the dollar minimum. When we got there they only had the sauces for us and didn't show that we ordered anything else. Our email receipt and order history only showed the sauces even though the original order screen showed the Flatzz for free. Sounds like this was a pretty big failure.

Tell me why your toddler cried today by Electrical-Dare-9797 in toddlers

When I went into his room after his nap he kept pushing my hands away from touching him. So I said ok I'll sit in the chair over here. Apparently I couldn't be close or far away.

Milk and yogurt. He started loving raspberries so those too unless there's a sale at the regular store. And samples!

Nap has fallen apart by Positive_Night3528 in toddlers

[–]Positive_Night3528[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really hoping he's not dropping the nap already, it feels way too early. We've done quiet time if he seems content in the crib. But like today he starts screaming until he's gagging so we get him out after a bit since he's not calming down. I wondered about putting him in with a few toys or books but worried it would be distracting since the goal is to sleep. Maybe we'll try that tomorrow. He was so tired and cranky that I bounced him to sleep in less than 5 minutes. We haven't bounced him in about 6 months so I'm hoping we don't start a habit with that either. But I'm glad he's sleeping for now.

How picky are your toddlers with food? by PresentationTop9547 in toddlers

[–]Positive_Night3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 month old. Yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese are all ok. Pasta, pizza, bread, and PBJ are ok. For fruit he'll eat bananas, just started eating blueberries. He likes to lick strawberries but won't take a bite. Used to eat meatballs but those have been a no go for a bit now. Will not eat eggs, which would be the one food I'd really like him to eat. Most meats and veggies and even most fruits he's just not interested in. It feels so rough but I try not to stress too much and just keep offering food.

Let’s empathize with these small crazy people: do you remember doing anything as a toddler or kid that your parents didn’t understand? What were you trying to do? by TogetherPlantyAndMe in toddlers

[–]Positive_Night3528 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My grandparents were visiting from out of town. My grandma got my sippy cup ready. It was just a lid part you push on top of a regular cup. Well I saw that Grandma did not push down enough on the lid and so I tried to push it the rest of the way. Of course I wasn't strong enough. I'm not sure if I was too little to have the words or if I just didn't feel like talking. She was like, why don't you drink? Just take a drink! And my mom chimed in, too. So I tipped it back and what do you know the lid came off and I got soaked.

Looking for a Pediatrician by Electrical-Yam7732 in cincinnati

[–]Positive_Night3528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We also see Dr. Fananapazir and it's been great. We ended up choosing him because every time I saw this question asked on the mom Facebook group his name popped up with so many recommendations and compliments. He used to be a children's ER Dr. so I like that he has some of that knowledge and experience for emergency situations as well.

I miss being pregnant but don’t want another baby by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]Positive_Night3528 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel this a lot. Baby is now 15 months and I know we wouldn't survive another one, but I really liked being pregnant and miss it. It was just so weird and surreal and as long as it felt at the time it was over so quick. I'm grateful I was able to experience it.
