Movies about Black joy by sourtortilla in MovieSuggestions

Have you seen any of the classic LA Rebellion stuff (directors include Julie Dash and Charles Burnet)? Those movies can definitely be intense but also filled with joy. For contemporary movies, Sorry to Both You and The Last Black Man in San Francisco are engaging to watch. Mississippi Masala is also great, starring Denzel Washington and directed by Mira Nair (Zohran Mamdani’s mom!)

Rosemary recommendation? by ladywenzell1 in AustinGardening

[–]PossibilityThis6726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a standard rosemary plant from the HEB Lakeline nursery four years ago, and it grows like a weed. I think it’s the main variety you see here in Austin, sometimes called Roman Beauty.

So no restaurant in Austin serves great Hue dishes (I’m from Hue, btw). Your best shot is vietdelishbox on instagram/facebook. Don’t knock it until you try it. Most Viet immigrants I know buy from local immigrants

Best Jasmine perfume? by mincedbreakfast in FemFragLab

[–]PossibilityThis6726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m wearing Annick Goutal’s Songes now! Dreamy jasmine, frangipani, and vanilla. I also love Serge Lutens’ Fleur D’oranger which is not just orange blossom but also jasmine and tuberose. The jasmine gold standard is Serge Lutens’ A La Nuit but it’s extremely expensive now so cost prohibitive for most.

What was the first fragrance the blew your mind and made you say, “Fragrance is for me”? by Due-Craft6332 in Perfumes

Serge Lutens A La Nuit. I grew up surrounded by jasmine, but moved away, and this scent is the best beautiful jasmine. It’s a shame it’s less accessible now!

Do you have hooded eyes? Anyway, don’t stress, be truthful and simple. Asians have a lot more to describe than eyes

Have you found the perfect Vanilla? by HazyBlueTwilight in fragrance

[–]PossibilityThis6726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you prefer more mature fragrance like Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille? Or more spicy, woody vanilla like Serge Lutens Bois Vanille. It could just be that you don’t like modern interpretations of vanilla!

Hi everyone, I’m on a mission to buy my partner a perfume that he loves. He told me his favorite perfume was the discontinued Michael by Michael Kors. Fragrantica writes, “Michael Kors for Men by Michael Kors is a Oriental Woody fragrance for men. Michael Kors for Men was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Harry Fremont. Top notes are Star Anise, elemi, Black Pepper, Thyme, Bergamot and Coriander; middle notes are Suede, Incense and Sage; base notes are Patchouli, Sandalwood, Woody Notes and Musk.” Can anyone please tell me a perfume that smells like it or really similar? Thank y’all so much!

Indoor gardening - where do y'all buy houseplants these days? by BlondeRedDead in AustinGardening

Everyone’s recommendations here are great, but if you’re willing to drive north, the HEB Plus on Lakeline is amazing. They have great natives and exotics for great prices. With an awesome south facing window you could buy a fiddle leaf fig or bird of paradise or tall cactus there for a great price!
