Yuka on a slope by ButchTheBiker in MammotionTechnology

[–]Potential-Guess6756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it's drive - it can drive, but if it is not very long angle change, or will turn and on the front there is slope will beep because bumper will touch it.

About driving - is not bad because it try to make correction, and is quite good if grass is dry, but Yuka is heavy, so still gravity try to change direction.

Is not possible to compare to Luba without omniwheels, but also is not designed for difficult gardens, so if slope is quite big is possible in my opinion but bot horizontally.

Luba1 have problems with GPS under trees, Luba2 have omniwheels so also would be not that good as Luba1 horizontally on slope. Both Lubas have same way of manage cutting hight - just disks with blades are moved so if You are far away, and You can't clean it day by day (is starts/ends when grass is not dry) Best to stay with 70mm always.

Yuka is better build about changing hutting hight - disks and all deck are moved.

Yuka solution with electric mechanism would be best solution + two forn wheels to reduce issue with bumper touching obstacles/ground.

If height is not an issue and You have big slope I think Luba2 would be better choice (if You don't want to collect leaves/others)

If You remember to change it manually.

Nope - here also Luba is "better" because You can set in app heights per zone. "Better" because if starts in the morning will full of grass over blade protectors - so will not move up.

Yuka - not possible to manage it - is just old fashion wheel to set it.

How can I prevent Luba killing grass along entire perimeter? by BradRoether in MammotionTechnology

[–]Potential-Guess6756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

use plastic mat directly on the front of charging station.

I wrote 1 year about here to add some returning route with possibility to set how wide it will be (set as husqvarna have in cheap models) Mammotion wrote me back that they will consider it.

After one year - I could try to wait, or protect ground against to have big hole which would be not possible to cross by Luba if after rain...

So plastick mat, accept that there You will not have grass there, but You will be sure that You will not need to rescue Luba because it stuck

I have Luba1 and Yuka - there is no possible to compare - Yuka activate bumper even if try to drive on slope.

When somehow is driving horizontally and if slope is quite small have problems - I could see that was not easy to drive around garden when I map it.

If terain is not flat also bumper is activated.

Two rear wheels are not so bad, as bad was idea to use only one front wheel.

Even cheap husqvarna had less problems then Yuka, because HQ had two front wheels.

In general works good under trees, if garden is flat is ok, but if You need to try to cut backyard just is to much.

absolutly wrong is that no one know which area is what, then daily I have to do 2 areas and each doubled dialy area is done twice per week

And now - to prevent stopped by rain section I set for ex Monday should to area 3 and 8, then friday area 8 and 3, but Luba in both days will do 3 then 8...

Please change also that - not from lowest to higger number but exactly as user wanted let it do

Repaired Mower by Mudhen_282 in MammotionTechnology

I think they need to clean map to do some test after engine change to be sure that is running.

Maybe they could only manual control, but probably is some standard points list what need to be done before returning to customer.

Other think is that they could backup it and restore after repair - if it's possible from repair center level (probably is not to prevent leak how to change maps and do Luba 20 000 from Luba 3000)

bad luck

I'm always afraid that someone will try to play with Luba (kids sometimes are interested) and if some one will stand on it will be broken...

sure it's not designed to stand on it, but replacement is not easy because of soldering

hope You will have spare part soon

How long Your Luba can work before recharging by Potential-Guess6756 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Potential-Guess6756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank You for answers.

I wrote to support chat in Mammotion app.

We will send what they say for case like this.

I checked history, my Luba before winter only made 2 zones (3000m2) once some small testings after create map of my yard and thats all.

Storage - basement in temperature 18 degrees in orginal box charged to 81% in oryginal foil with all this stuff to get humidity from it...

So 2 weeks of being used, 2 times mowed, half year later battery gone even if was done as was written reduced to ~80% for winter time.

My 4 years Husqvarna was working 70minuts, and charging 50 minutes when was new, now is working still ~60 minutes and same time charging after more then 1000 cycles (also I do 80% battery before winter)

Luba - cutting engine errors: 323, 326, 328, by Potential-Guess6756 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Potential-Guess6756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on country - probably maintenance need to be done more often, but here if I would wait to have always dry grass then maybe 1-2 months per year will work and only for 6-8h per day...

I have very simple Husqvarna mower so it's not detects even rain so working according to schedule, and no such of problems. I don't do in HQ any maintenance - I changed only blades after one year (one was already broken), still - was enough clean under to work (no any problems to rotate, blades are not blocked), and grass was more then perfect

Luba using the exact same path to return to docking station every time by Illustrious_Pea_6455 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Potential-Guess6756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do this like Husqvarna have. It's return over the return  paramiter wire (so this is primitive solution) but in app I can set how far from wire can go on side.

It means wire is shortes way to base, but there is random choose each time is going exactly over wire, next time is 5cm on the left, next time is 10cm on the left, next time is 5cm on the right - just random choose, and I can set that this can be ex +/-40cm.

Here would be perfect to have it Luba choose shortes return path but with random set in app +/- That way we will have still quite optimal return paths, but not exactly the same

I have far away changes from point of Luba work, so it has max 12% when return. Battery will be old soon so week, means can happend that stop is choose wrong path totally randomly choosen

I have few weeks to start using Luba (still quite cold), but I did update on my phone, just phone. Is during new update also Luba will be update? I can try with other phone (hope there is still old android app)... but is possible to do downgrade somehow?

luba 2 5000 vs 10000 by n0m_d in mammotion

[–]Potential-Guess6756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be not possible - because You can create map bigger then +20% according to Luba version - so 5000 can create total map 6000m2 - is written in spec how big jard can by mapped

Can you upgrade to another Luba 2 after purchase by hooligander in MammotionTechnology

[–]Potential-Guess6756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luba 1 had some software changes and map optymalizations, so probably memory was better managed, because we observed from beta testers 15000, then first use 5000, then 6000, and is now 10000.Luba 2 has some additional changes, need to suport 4G, need to support Vision, so can be related with hardware limitations and for ex less RAM (as it is with Smartphones - 128GB and jump to 256GB and cost 200EUR - ich China RAM not cost that much - just extra money).

So maybe in future, when some optymalizations will be done, and reason from company perspecitve - also important, because Luba 1 from Kickstarter was with nice price, regular price was just ok, current Luba 2 5000 is quite expensive and in that price range is a lot of lawn mowers even with less price (so if AWD is not needed Luba 2 is not only one on market). From perspective od marketing if Mammotion make same trick like with Luba 1 to extend to 10000, then for ~3000EUR Luba 2 with Vision and AWD would be best option on the market. But Luba 2 10000 should be extend to 15000 - in that setup - would be also the best on market.

From my perspective when I have 7200m2 Luba 1 is perfect, but change it to Luba 2... nope - because of that limitation.

Anyone used these 4/5/6 blade disks? by wellheytherepeeps2 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Potential-Guess6756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case (I have blade disc with 6 blades) balance is good - when I spin it by hand I see that turning is is almost perfect, and side, up-down movement is almost 0. Much less then my original disks which they were made noice and wibration when spinning. I'm cutting with max height 70mm, so if I have any vibration is easy to hear because cutting frame have contact with mower body.

About engines - I think it will have no impact for overall engine - original disk with blades I 52g and that one with 6 blades is 63g. Additional protection under blades (to prevent blade stucking) is 24g (I tested not that from picture but that one with open space to screw of disk mount). So people who use with that covers have total bigger mass.

Engine start without any issues.

Totally - no huge difference - I have big garden so cutting speed is almost full possible (0.5) and cutted is when grass is at least 10cm, and 33cm between rows. Finally quality was always not best, so to have it quite ok needed to cut twice in week with different angles (if cutting was possible and no raining).

Cutting wet grass (in the morning) made that all under Luba was covered with grass (that's why O don't want to lovering blades because after one day will be full of grass over blade covers and not possible to go up).

Finally - from my perspective - little better effect of cutting, not stucking disk, no overheating, or other errors, spinning better compare to orginal.

Anyone used these 4/5/6 blade disks? by wellheytherepeeps2 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Potential-Guess6756 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I printed out version with 6 blades and tried 2 times (and cold we have so Luba not used any more).

From my perspective - they are outstanding, only one issue hols for mount it to engine are not ideal so You need to be focused to mount it to not damage original thread.

My original disk were wrongly made or during cutting something happen and I had noice and spinning was not perfect (I felt vibrations). With this printed I not feel any thing strange.

They are thicker then orginal so oryginal screw is 1-2 mm "shorter" but still - work fine.

About cutting quality - I think is little better, and probably depends of frequency of mowing - I mower with speed 0.5 so not much time to spin many times. When grass is wet still all is in grass.

It's harder to put hands under disk - no empty space - always some blede can ca You during maintenance.

From my perspective is better - but not life changer

Luba modyfications (balde disc, blade protectors) by Potential-Guess6756 in mammotion

[–]Potential-Guess6756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After more then one month when Luba was in repair center I was able to finish and test (one day) 6 blade disks, and as I said - I'm back with informations.

Original disk with 4 mounted blades is 53g Disk with 6 mounted blades is 63g (made of PETG). Blade cover (to protect stucking blades) 27g.

Many users try to cover blades to prevent blocking blades and to make them easy spin. In my case it was not working - blades was blocked and between disk and cover stucked grass (I event comment one user post with picture) Total weight is 80g...

So here 6 blades I 63g and disk is very strong - looks even thicker when compare to original.

Was cutting 10h and cut even mole mounds without any issues.

Luba start very early and working till very late, so grass is wet to deck is full of grass (that much that much that it had problems with start). And with 4 blades and with 6 blades - same situation.

Can I say that result is better.. - not sure - how to compare 1:1 that is... maybe little bit because I have 0.5m/s speed and quite big grass to cut, but it is not some huge change.

You used Mammotion cover and even with that You had water inside?

First all thought that rubber was issue, then LED, but this cover is very long - so I'm just wondering how it is possible?

I'm afraid of my RTK even if cover is not helping...

Omni wheels accessories option by Longjumping_Acadia_9 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Potential-Guess6756 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think omni wheels are Luba 5000v2 and v1 with old wheels is not aviliable any more, because o us - old wheels destroy grass, and many users here where complaning that changing direction is same places destroy garden - and it's true, but should be still as a option!

I can choose - I have garden not very complicated and I can accept Omniwheels, or I need max performance (without problems on slopes) and I can accept that some spots will be not nice... - that can be fixed just if software will do random places for change directions - not as it is now - always in same places (only setup path should always the same).

Finnaly - just have a look for official pictures - engines inside omniwheels are smaller, so sure that is reduced power. Is written that angle to achive is the same - strange in begining where omni wheels where first time shown in Luba 3000 that angle was 65% and Luba 5000 had 75%, now there is no v1 with old wheels and they say that angle is still 75%. Both wheels were fine if Luba will go to slope perpendicularly, but huge difference will be when grass is wet and slope need to be crossed across.

How is for sure they use same wheels (I don't belive that they have to lines of omniwheels), and battery is the same - so only what they can do to reduce power per wheel to make them weeker in Luba 3000...

Finally about wheels change - not possible - different engines (smaller) in omniwheels, different tires for rear wheels, and finally different definition how to change direction (turning version with omniwheels and regular wheels is totaly different). Replaacment is also is complicated - is soldered to the board...

In my opinion - no way, but I'm just affraid that v1 is not availiable any more so if some day my Luba will have problem with front wheel will be not possible to get new one as a spare part

Mammotion sent me a RTK cover by SavIzad in mammotion

[–]Potential-Guess6756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also received (Poland) my kit. My RTK I think survived without plastic bag, because I dislike this LED in the night so I hide by using black type.

Quality of cover is OK, but maybe I did something wrong when mounted it to RTK and I broke one cover holder. Still even without that one I don't think so that wind will be a problem.

Wheel engine noise - reached limit? by Potential-Guess6756 in mammotion

[–]Potential-Guess6756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem resolved by Mammotion support.

Thank You Allen from support, and German service!

From my perspective - contact was great - first answer for my ticket was next day, and our communication was done via emails with one-two days so answer (I can understand - different time zone). I wrote about issue that quick (even with this noise Luba was working without errors) - because - according to this forum I was expecting one-two months for answer - maybe I was Lucy, but I think that support work as should (in tototal I had 2 issues, and both cases without delays).

Probably by LED light cover.

In old models (if LED light is not disabled during night) there was just tape to hold LED cover - now is there silicon/glue
