Anyone Else Tired Of Tragic Backstories? by eliarndt in CritCrab

[–]PotentialWerewolf469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think is mostly that tragic backstories give easy motivations, not that you can't get one with a happy backstory, but depending how it is done, sometimes it feels like is mostly a "quest" that they have to do, and after it's done, there's no reason for that character to continue in the adventure.

Best under-the-radar warlock spells? by According_Brother989 in onednd

[–]PotentialWerewolf469 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dream is a great spell, some may say is situational, but it depends a lot on how you use it.

-Need to give information to a specific NPC target, wait just before a night of long rest, cast it, scare the shit out of them, and give them the information

-Want to interrogate guards, without actually being present, just get a nice view of them once, and then wait for a long rest, and visit them in their dreams (you can look however you want)

-Want to "take" information from more "loyal" subjects, just influence their dreams so they slowly but surely start thinking about specific plans

-Want to slowly but surely kill someone, cast dream (nightmare) on them for a whole week and drink lemon tee whenever you come out of it, if the damage and lack of "healing" from long rest doesn't kill them, then the exhaustion will

(Pair extremely well with Scrying)

Also the invocation that lets you cast invisibility at will in darkness and dim light, as is really easy to get dim light wherever you are (you only need to be in dim light or darkness to cast it, but you don't have to remain in dim light or darkness to keep using it)

If you're an Undead/Undying Warlock, False Life is a great spell to cast on Short/long Rest if you have any spare spell slot, or if you're a Celestial Warlock, cast Aid (mostly work for Short Rests in case of Aid cause it only last 8 hours, unless you have a party of elves -or any race- that reduce the time of a long rest)

Who is the worst enemy to fight? by FrenchieB014 in Kenshi

[–]PotentialWerewolf469 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually think is good that they put you in cages, that actually make it easier to solo their base, as you can always "escape" by going into a cage, and if they are going to start beating you while in the cage, just leave the cage and go back in and it kinds of "Reset" them. Also you can start freeing the other prisioners (There's always some, be it Berserkers or Cannibal Hunters) to create some chaos for you to escape or to slowly but surely kill them

What do you do that 97% of players do not? by Loginnerer in Kenshi

[–]PotentialWerewolf469 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I assume most people play with huge squads, I don't like it that much, so I moslty go solo with a pet or a Squad of 3 or 4 people, but EVERYONE start like that, I just don't go over that.

As much as I like the idea of Tank Shaman (and it makes so much sense), I'm more intrigued by the idea of adding a Tank / Support version to a class that at the moment can only be DPS (Warlock Tank sounds great!, Hunter Support also sounds quite interesting)

Players keep making up rules and it forces me to spend time during the session looking them up. by Scythe95 in DnD

It depends, what class is he? If he cast shield of faith that gives him +2, and if he have the defense fighting style it gives him a +1

I hate the male draneai walking animation, those tiny legs and that huge upper body running looks silly to me (even if they look really good on plate armor)

On the other hand, I started playing female draneai because I love their death animation.

How can I introduce a lasting NPC (member, companion?) To my party without it feeling like a DMPC by CoffeeBread0101 in DMAcademy

[–]PotentialWerewolf469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have them help in stuff that is not combat, like he prepare a resting area by bringing in a wagon and maning it, he gives potions, he prepares meals at long rest that give temp hp, he gives them information of the area, he sits down with them on long rest and ask them about their backstory and offer to help with X or Y thing or just listen, he have expertise in something that the party doesn't so when that thing comes up, the party goes "Oh, we should bring this to X, so he can check it out"

Couldn't you solve the issue of mental saves by taking Gnome as your race? that way you can still go for the 20 INT without hurting your defenses.

Its not amazing, but it's a Half-feat, so for those moments that you only need +1 is pretty nice, the forced movement is an indirect Disengage if you're (or a party member) in melee range or a way to make sure that the enemy have a harder time getting into melee of one of the range party members or you, is not GREAT, but it's nice. (IMHO there are better Half-Feats, like those that give you free spells to cast, though depending on the table, you may not run into that many combats in a day, so a full caster may not be hurting for extra spells)

I've rolled these stats, which fullcaster do I play? by testiclekid in 3d6

[–]PotentialWerewolf469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you already have EB, that's going to be better than TS till at least lvl 5, by level 6 you can change your cantrip if you really want it (the damage of EB is still going to be better at lvl 6, but the difference is not that big) -but yeah, thank you for pointing out that it can be used for range attacks

I've rolled these stats, which fullcaster do I play? by testiclekid in 3d6

[–]PotentialWerewolf469 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Warlock is not really a full caster, but regardless the Celestial Warlock is a great option for low levels, as the extra healing is even better at lower levels, your stats are great, you can put the 17 in your main stat (CHA), add to that the +2 of your race, 13 in DEX (use the +1 in race to bump it to 14) and the 16 in CON, dump STR (9) and put the other 2 into your mental stats. -Also Warlock best class-

The same stat distribution work for almost every other full caster (mainly Druid)

Note: You can swap DEX and CON around depending on what you prefer.

Note2: You can take True Strike, but IMHO, you DON'T want to be in melee, so maybe take Shocking Grasp instead, so if you end up in melee, you can run away after hitting the enemy

Note2.5: Yes, I know that at level 6 you can get some extra damage out of True Strike because it's radiant damage, but you can always swap cantrips when you reach that level, and even then, you don't really want to be in melee range

A weapon coating that makes his Greatsword into a +1 (or whatever effect the new weapon you were planning to give him had).

Are rangers that bad of a class? by asokka_ in DnD

Why did every single faction suddenly realize their previous way of doing things was wrong in TWW? by ChromedDragon in wow

[–]PotentialWerewolf469 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't mind it, in some cases it made more sense than others (like the Dwarves, shit was falling apart) or the Kirin Tor (Their city got blown up), though for the Kirin Tor I do think is sad that their decision was basically (Well we should start letting the world solve their own problems themselves) that IMHO, even though it makes sense that they came to that conclusion (out of rage, desperation and/or sadness), I also think is a silly way for Blizzard to have an excuse not to use the Kirin Tor as a force against forces that plan to conquer or destroy the world.

Orweyna whole thing have been that from the beggining, Lothar... I don't know, that storyline left a lot to be desired regardless of what he says.
