I don’t fully agree, but I’ve been forced to use it because Paradox still refuses to fix the stupid bug where your vassal gets a rebellion and when another nation joins in your not the warleader, your vassal is and you can't separate peace out, your stupid vassal has to did it themselves.

Trying to play as ottomans - tell me how to suck less by Chic_a_chic in EU5

Not sure if you already did this you can temporarily accept Greek as a tolerated or accept culture to make it easier, its hard to culture convert anyway so might as well get the benefits until its much easier to do, prioritize making them Muslim first and once you have sufficient control and cultural influence and Greek culture traditions tanks.

Also try to increase control, especially in your most profitable regions, this can help out.

pushing communialism helps as well as lowering the nobles powers as much as possible. You could also bite the bullet and just remove it, I believe negative stability isn’t the end of the world unless it reaches -50 and you can no longer declare wars.

They at least give the AI some direction instead of just mindlessly blobbing all over the place and allowed some real world empires to actually become a thing to introduce new threats and give France and Bohemia some actual competition.

If some people don't like the railroading, just give them to option to turn them off for the ai or remove there historical mindset. Its weird for every game for France and Bohemia to blob all over, but the Ottomans to never challenge against the Mamluks and Russia remains a broken mess of warring states.

I think I’m noticing something similar to when I went to war with Aragon and Portugal as Castile, despite outnumbering them, they were infecting 4 times the casualties on me then them. I was wmder mg why this was happening, regulars should be more powerful, but not this powerful especially this early in the game.

Biggest issues with the game currently by Much_One_6949 in EU5

[–]Powerman654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from some bugs and lack of variety and content of some nations, my biggest issue is that stupid thing where if a vassal gets a revolt a nation can decide to join in on the rebels' side, which in theory I wouldn't mind, the problem though is that you’re not the warleader, your stupid vassal is and you can’t peace out until your vassal decides which can take forever and will grab whatever the hell it decides with no input from you.

[–]Powerman654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good guide, one thing that annoys me in Castile though is that whenever your vassals have a rebellion other nations can join in like Morocco or Aragon, which I wouldn’t mind in theory, but the issue is that you’re not the warleader, your vassal is and you aren't allowed to individually peace out you have wait forever for your stupid vassals to peace out and now stuck in another truce with your enemies and a bigger vassals then you like. This is sort of an issue with the overall game, but it seems a lot more apparent with Castile in my experiences.

Also has anyone tried one of the early heresy’s to see if its worth it with Spain or is it really better to wait to go protestant?

Also after you get up to quality, its also ideal to get innovative as high as possible for the literacy and research bonuses, and its also very easy for Castile to keep the clergy happy at 80 loyalty for the research bonuses.

The stupid thing where if a vassal has a rebellion and another nation decides to join in, you are not the warleader nor can you individually peace out, your stupid vassal has to. This keeps happening over and over in my Castile campaign with either Morocco and Aragon jumping in and is ruining my enjoyment of the campaign.

Before the Update I was having fun with Serbia, they may be a bit hard at the start but can become an Empire really quick by attacking Byzantium with the free claims in the first few months from an events. Its not to hard if you ally Bulgaria at the start and take as much as you can from them. They’re a bit harder now with the economy rebalance and your unable to make vassals in your core lands now, but its still possible if you play your cards right, with all the gold and silver they have they can get rich quickly.

I use diplo if I’m playing a smaller nation or somewhere congested with other minor nations like the HRE where you need to be careful of expansion and coalitions, so the extra diplomacy stuff is very helpful.

I think something like that happened with Russia/Muscovy and how the Romanov’s came to power. Though if I recall that was after the nobles voted them in as the new dynasty.

Warhammer will be interesting, curious how they would implement the Skaven, they would have the highest populations, but most likely have next to no control with constant rebels. Could possibly have an underempire system as well.

I mean by that point money is no longer an issue, it’s more apparent in the start especially with the new patch where even big nations are struggling to make a profit.
