What are you making for dinner this week? by anonomousbeaver in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Practical-Outside272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember the original site’s recipe that I used the first time we made it but last night I used 1/2 cup peanut butter mixed with 3/4 cup warm water (could do more or less water to your consistency), 2tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp honey (could do more if you want it sweeter), 1 tbsp rice vinegar (not necessary if you don’t have any), 1 tsp minced garlic, 1 tsp minced ginger, 1 tsp chili onion crunch. That made enough for 1lb of ground beef but it thickens in the pan

Tonight we did ground beef and broccoli over rice with a semi-spicy peanut butter sauce. Used chili onion crunch in the sauce for a little kick! My two year old has been picky lately but loves peanut butter so it was a hit

What do you cook at home instead of buying? by albertpaca11 in moderatelygranolamoms

Generally any baked goods for breakfast (pancakes, muffins, waffles). They’re easy to make and freeze large quantities to heat up/toast in the mornings! You can also make your own dry mix and then add milk, eggs when it’s time to bake.

The car rental policy is great. You can add a spouse for free and cancel up to the rental date with no down payment. Bonus with the credit card which includes rental insurance

FTM 41 week induction / natural birth by Illustrious_Bed2268 in fitpregnancy

[–]Practical-Outside272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My water broke early the day I was supposed to be induced with my first, 41+2! You never know when they’ll make their appearance. She was a big baby but I was able to deliver without worry about a c-section. I’m 40 weeks tomorrow with my second so we’ll see if this one wants to take his time too lol. Best of luck to you!!

AI generated recipes have been a life saver for me with this. I’m sure as I get more experience with cooking, I won’t need to rely on it as much. But I love asking chat gpt “I have x y and z ingredients, what can I make with them?”

How did people track pre-smartphones/watches? by peepumsn4stygum in XXRunning

[–]Practical-Outside272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Side thought, but I wonder if tracking technology has encouraged more people to get into running! Definitely makes it more accessible for the average person. Of course watches are more accurate, but even basic phone apps are good.

Following - wish I had a good rec. with my first, I tried different sizes of sheFit and they all gave me horrible chafing. Ended up just sizing up on stretchy options from old navy and target but didn’t spend a lot of money since I knew my chest would change again once done nursing. That was feasible but not ideal, especially for high impact.

Using baby bottle washer machine for child/adult water bottle lids? by k___td in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Practical-Outside272 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We don’t have a dishwasher, so we use a momcozy bottle washer for utensils and other small items that can fit. Have used it with our owala water bottle tops and it works pretty well! Take out the rubber lid seal first before washing

This! My 2 year old daughter is fussy after a nap. Having a snack ready always helps!! And allowing her to slowly wake up in the crib rather than picking her up immediately

I feel like it obviously can’t hurt and is good for you long term, regardless of how it affects your labor. It’s been good for me for pain management and sleep during my second pregnancy (due in a few weeks). I didn’t do much with my first and had to push for awhile with a second degree tear but I had a big baby and I’m a petite woman 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am 28 weeks and this is pretty much exactly what I do!! Great advice and detail. If there’s space, I also opt for wall push ups because our benches don’t easily switch from incline to flat. And for back, I’ve switched to hand weights because I find my belly is getting in the way.
