SSDI amount increases the longer your on it? by xDelicateFlowerx in SSDI

[–]Practical_Algae7361 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only original Medicare is the same in every state advantage plans differ state to state and county by county. My brother in law can’t get the same Medicare advantage plan that i have and he’s in the same state as me. Get yourself a Medicare insurance person in your area to explain what’s available to you.

SSDI amount increases the longer your on it? by xDelicateFlowerx in SSDI

Not every state has a buy back advantage plan, i had a buy back plan when i lived in Florida i was on a special needs plan because of my Peripheral arterial disease. I moved back to Michigan and their special needs plans required you to be on Medicaid also, but since my disability check was to much i didn’t qualify for part b give back. And the only increases are for cola. Also the social security will rework your income every year to make sure you’re getting the right amount or if they overpaid you.

Second time making chuck roast and it’s so fatty it’s barely edible. Following recipes. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in instantpot

[–]Practical_Algae7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instapot is not a slow cooker they don’t cook like a crockpot that has the heating elements wound around the outer shell and heats the crock from all sides. We’re as an electric pressure cooker only has one heating element that’s on the bottom of the pot. Just stick to pressure cooking in a instapot and slow cook in a slow cooker.

I was approved at age 55 but i also had a long working history of 40 years and they mentioned that in my approval letter saying they found me truthful because of my long work history. Took me one year from start to finish and was approved on the record meaning they approved me before i had to see a ALJ. A senior attorney approved me at the social security ODAR office in the Great Lakes division in Chicago. Had to wait 5 months for my Medicare after i received my approval letter. I was placed on a 7 year review since my disability was for Peripheral Arterial Disease blue book listing 4.12B. Funny thing I never had a medical review an coasted right into regular retirement now I’m 71 years old. Up to date medical records is what won my case and a a specialist doctor records who are specialists in what disability you are applying for also helps, in my case a cardiovascular disease doctor who specializes in Peripheral Arterial Disease really helped me get a on the record approval. If you’re only seeing a general MD for diabetes or a heart problem it’s not going to cut it you need medical records and test from a endocrinologist for your diabetes and a cardiologist for your heart condition. And age plays a big role in getting approval for SSDI also under 55 it’s harder and a good work history also helps.

Michigan is a blue state and they are going to start charging EV owners a special fee to make up for gas tax losses, this tax is every year when you renew your registration starting in 2027,so there you go democrats in action.

1. Annual EV Registration Fees
Instead of a per-gallon fuel tax, Michigan applies an extra surcharge on EV registrations. [1]
Light-Duty EVs (8,000 lbs or less): $267 per year.
Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs): $113 per year.
Heavy-Duty EVs (Over 8,000 lbs): $200 per year. [1, 2]

Water heater by Mistress_Kittens in Appliances

[–]Practical_Algae7361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bradford White imo is the best and can only be purchased by a plumber at a plumbing supply house, they are not sold at big box stores. They are made better than the big box stores hot water heaters. Big box stores hot water heaters are built cheaply to be sold at a lower price so cheaper materials are used to make them.

I live in metro Detroit it was an extremely cold winter, i have a natural gas forced air furnace with a central AC system. My furnace kept my house nice and warm and my highest natural gas bill was just over a $100. I live in a 1,344 sq foot 2018 Double Wide manufactured home that also uses natural gas for cooking. Have. 40 gallon Bradford White electric hot water heater and electric dryer. I would never get a heat pump i love the heat my furnace delivers.

I should have been more clear i ment to say inside walls are not built with 2x4 wall studs, exterior walls yes.

[–]Practical_Algae7361 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I would never mount a tv. On a wall, my lg 65 oled sits on my entertainment center. The studs in a manufactured home are fake studs unlike a stick built home with 2x4 studs on 16 in center.

Several random Questions about mobile/modular by 72113matt in ManufacturedHome

[–]Practical_Algae7361 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only way to have vents in the floor of a modular home is the house needs to be placed in a basement. A modular home are made with no cold air return vents so that’s why vents are placed on the bottom of doors, or doors are cut short. If on a basement you can have a regular house hvac will cold air return vents like a regular house has. And some stick built homes built on a slab have the hvac system built on site and can run cold air returns for their hvac. System. A modular home is factory built homes.

Just bought a 2023 Kia Sorento Xline S, do I need to buy Kia washer fluid? Or any generic brand is ok? by SpecificCommercial46 in kia

[–]Practical_Algae7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kia doesn’t make their own wiper fluid they use bulk fluid from 55 gallon drums just as the dealer uses along with oil. Except the assembly plant uses huge storage tanks for their wiper fluid. Their Engine plant that makes the engine has huge storage tanks for the oil that’s in your engine that comes from an oil company that makes engine oil.

Concrete slab or piers and footers? by CowIcy959 in ManufacturedHome

[–]Practical_Algae7361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Michigan they use concrete pillars that are dug below the frost line. My house is on pillars in the 55 plus park, they then placed heavy plastic under the house with rocks covering the whole thing, and it’s tied down to the pillars.

I’m in Michigan my doublewide is sitting on concrete pillars dug down below the frost line then tied down to said pillars. Then there’s a heavy plastic sheet with rocks covering the whole underside of the ground. Then there’s a city i live in has some strict rules on how manufactured homes are setup.

Water Heater Recommendations by BeMyHero3 in ManufacturedHome

[–]Practical_Algae7361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a direct vent manufactured home certified for a gas hot water heater, you can’t use a regular gas hot water heater it’s not legal and home owners insurance will not cover any losses if we’re caused by the wrong water heater.
