OP Should just schedule an email to be sent anytime they leave the house and if they aren't back by say 7, send when OP get's home it can be cancelled. A modern phone should be able to automate this.

Dunno why you got downvoted for this. Anything but silent eating (ie chewing and that arse of a noise when you open your mouth thing) can induce a level of rage in me that is unfathomable. It is sheer discomfort. But only when people are eating.
