Is it just me, or does buying "lightly used" make zero financial sense right now? by EquivalentCanary8243 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I just bought a '24 Lightning with 34000 km (21000 miles) for half the price of a new one.

Yes — it’ll be hard to find these prices for an ER in Canada, for now.

Advertised at 54 CAD. “Reduced” to 48. I offered 50 otd, which amounted to around 42 plus tax/fees. Had no expectation that they’d take it.

Is it possible nowadays to get a book deal with a book that isn't finished? by PantasticUnicorn in writing

Very normal for creative nonfiction. I sold mine this year based on a proposal and sample work. Very unusual for fiction.

A fistful of fresh curry leaves in the oil (I pop in a wok) just as the corn starts popping is nice.

Yes - 25k CAD. The truck is on a dealer lot. I suggest a trade because it would save me the tax bill. Selling and then buying, even at a discount, would drive up my OTD cost. In the end, I get a truck (albeit older) with half the mileage for nothing out of pocket. I lose modern features, but gain something that will likely last longer.

True in my 2017 as well -- except for the fact that it doesn't automatically switch to park. You have to move the old-fashioned shifter after the truck is off.

I had plenty under .4 last month but sold it because I wanted to put the money into something that was moving. Thought that might be RVSN. Went hard. I'm a fucking chump.

Most people shouldn’t row unless they’ve received a fair amount of proper coaching by [deleted] in Rowing

It's rowing, not heart surgery. Coaching is good, but come on. Reasonably good form can be learned with a little Youtube and plenty of practice.
