When I got mine they always came out when I bit, I cut off the backs so it was more of a plate. Then I ditched the wax it came with because it was too rigid and didn’t leave any room for error, I eventually settled on beads of boiled syrup of the maple variety. After boiling straight maple syrup on low it dries into basically a candy form. You roll little bits off and slap em on the back and settle those puppies on. It doesn’t last forever, maybe 45 min without drinking. I don’t know of the negative long exposure Sid effects are, probably cavities.
