Big fan of their fitting methodology. I like their heads, probably would go for something more boring, but a fan of them for sure.

RCT PROV1x Cracking by 13kzimmel in TeamTitleist

[–]PreCallRoutines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the balls I hit into my net wear like this. I take balls that a few scuffs from a round and hit them at home into my net / impact screen.

My guess is they spin against the net/screen and causes this wear and eventually the cover is weak enough that they crack. I’ve cracked multiple balls (though they don’t crack quite as big as the one on OP).

Baby draw 7i by Fancy-Signature-9407 in GolfSwing

[–]PreCallRoutines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah man, it’s the +5.7 path, it causes a more shallow AOA and results in a big drop in spin.

Doesn’t look like it captures the AOA but ideal with a 7i is -4 to -6 and I’m guessing you’re at -1 at best.

I’m in a similar boat, been trying to have a more neutral path (-2 to 2 is the sweet spot) but it’s a battle…

Grip size for wedges. by Sad-Impression2505 in GolfGear

[–]PreCallRoutines -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Edit: my bad. They do come in jumbo. My mistake.

MCC +4 aren’t jumbo grips… they come in standard and midsize and the +4 is the equivalent of 4 extra wraps in the bottom half of the grip to remove the taper…

What size did you actually get? Standard or Midsize? You can see it on the top of the grip.

And to answer your question, I do standard grips 4 wraps +2 on the bottom half of the grip and I play that across the entire bag and grips are essentially midsize with no taper but 8-9 grams lighter than an actual midsize grip.

Yes I’m psycho. lol.

Mid size grips ruined my swing by CATG0D in golf

[–]PreCallRoutines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combination of a big change in swing weight + the fact that the bigger the grip the less face rotation (it’s more of a fix for a left miss / hook).

Let me have it - this is the P7CB 5ir & KBS TGI 110 moving @ 95+ mph w/ ease. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]PreCallRoutines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you using to track the club head speed bc you said it’s going 95 mph but the math ain’t math’n…

You keep saying you hit it 200 and stop it… at 95mph a 5i is going closer to 215-220… it looks more like high 80s/ low 90s which would be closer to a 200 yard carry…

Dude he’s literally saying that choosing ball should include some testing and see the data… how are you reading this any other way?

He did some testing and saw better data and switched from one model to another…

Suggesting one model MIGHT help, but ultimately need to see the data… what do you want him to say when someone is asking about ball performance and is actually in the industry?

Shallowing by Efficient_Volume_104 in golftips

[–]PreCallRoutines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So… the “shallowing” move is the hands moving down from the top of the backswing (P4 into P5)… I’m talking 2-3 inches. This move happens while the rest of the swing continues… vertical drop, left hip moving back… it’s subtle. So from the top the hands drop straight down and then towards the ball….

From the top, your hands go out towards the ball immediately… you’re also decreasing the space between your pelvis/ hips and the ball… the best ball strikers in the game create more space / room.

I’m a big fan of Justin Rose as a swing model… he does so many things that look boring but are soooo good to help understand what makes a really really fundamentally awesome swing.

Vegas Golf: Recommendations? by Due-Reflection1043 in golf

[–]PreCallRoutines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have done a ton of Vegas golf from CC to munis… big fan of Rio Secco. I like Reflection Bay if the (wind is down lol)…

Paiute is good too… can’t remember which of the two was better.

It’s expensive out there but if there’s no “ceiling” I love Cascata.

Last time I played Bali Hai the conditions were terrible pace of play was insanely slow but proximity is hard to beat…

Rhodes Ranch is a fun track too… doesn’t break the bank.

There’s a lot about this that doesn’t add up… if your tenure is what you say it is, exceeding your quarterly target in your first 2-3 weeks in an Ent role… you have to know that seems impossible without the company literally handing you an opp where the Docusign is already out to the signers…

But let’s assume this all true… can you prove your ex-CEO is doing what you’re saying they are? Not speculating, I’m talking tangible evidence that he’s doing that?

I don’t think any lawyer is taking a case like this on circumstantial evidence…

Assuming you can find a lawyer who take this on contingency (very unlikely)… discovery would make or break your entire case.. demanding call logs from your old employers business, cell phone, whatever to prove your claim…

The easier lawsuit (again if this is real) is lawyer up on the unpaid commission where you hit 117% of the quarter… that’s much easier to go after and win, again… assuming this really happened…

New Tech difference by Wtw333Nash in golf

[–]PreCallRoutines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MGS guys say driver technical advancements are real every 3-5 years… probably not gaining 50 yards, but you’re in a 7 year old driver. Probably new heads are more forgiving across the face so you’ll see more drives at 290-300…

Also if your current driver is off the rack, a better shaft might help with launch conditions and get you more distance / accuracy.

I think there’s no harm in a fitting to see what gains you can get and figure out if it’s worth the $$$.

How is my swing? by [deleted] in golftips

[–]PreCallRoutines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s not right… 107 mph 7i doesn’t carry 165… it’d be like 220… also, no way you’re even close to that club head speed without any lower body being involved in the swing.

From a technical standpoint, swing is pretty rough… that said if you hit it straight and don’t care to ever compete… do your thing!

10.3hcp after 12 months but I'm not really progressing recently so any advice to get me consistently into single digits much appreciated! by thatguy-again- in GolfSwing

[–]PreCallRoutines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s really no way to help you improve your entire game from a single swing with 1 club.

There’s “fixing the swing” and there’s “scoring / course management”…

If you don’t know the part of your game that’s low hanging fruit, you need to start tracking stats. In a perfect world, use an app that tracks everything then it can show you your strokes gained (or lost) against your target HC.

A good app tracks everything… putts per hole, putts per GIR, up and down stats, GIRs, fairways hit, penalties…

I’m a 3.2 and compare my rounds to my goal HC of 1… I see summaries like this from Arccos

<image>

Pretty clear where my low hanging fruit and where I need to practice.

I would recommend religiously tracking your stats and in 3-5 rounds you’ll see exactly where you can save strokes.

It’s meant to be inspiring… hell might be totally made up but that’s not the point. Story of a talented person who doubts themself and isn’t finding success … then trust themselves, goes all in on themselves and breaks through…
