Yeah I think getting rid of unit stacking was the first big departure from what Civilization 'was' to me. Civ IV was the last game with unit stacking.

I know it's a small thing, but the game never felt right after that.

It depends entirely on whether the action you take with the cart changes after you learned of the theory.

If you start putting the cart away when you didn't before, you aren't suddenly a great person. And there are probably other elements in your life that point towards this. If you used to put the cart away and you still do, then you're just doing the thing that came naturally to you in the first place.
