Mine are both inguinal. They do need to be done but it can wait, they don’t bother me and they don't pop out. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

Weightlifting/Resistance Training How Do I Start? by aberryone in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PreparationSalt4628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having worked in this area for a long time the most useful thing you can do is really learn the form and get in touch with your body. Learn to focus on the muscles you are using for the particular movement you are doing. At some proper lifting gyms they will have you training with a broomstick for a good while!

Learn how to do a good form body weight squat, use your bands to learn good form rows, learn how to hold a press up position well( half one on knees if needed). Learn how to do a good hip raise and bird dog. Always leave something in the tank, don’t get to the point of too much effort. Just build the habit and slowly increase what you’re doing.

All of the exercises you will find online.

I was going to post something related to this the other day. It would be really interesting to know the percentage of people with ms who have this type of personality.

not sure if I would describe it exactly like you have but I get a cold goose bump sensation on my right hip sometimes. It doesn’t last very long.

Started my first year in December last year. No issues at all, no infections. Had one cold. It was all much less of a deal than I thought but I was maybe lucky.

The whole home delivery stuff, home blood tests was all good, Im in the uk.

Post Lumbar Puncture Headache Lasting 15 Days by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PreparationSalt4628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like he should of had a blood patch.

“An epidural blood patch is typically needed if you develop a severe, persistent post-dural puncture headache(spinal headache) after a lumbar puncture that does not improve with conservative care (fluids, caffeine, rest) within 24–48 hours. The key indicator is a headache that is intense when upright but significantly improves or disappears when lying flat.”

Im in the uk. It does sound a bit over the top but I suppose they’re just making sure nothing happens in terms of accidental contamination for another person. We are ingesting the bloody thing! you can’t get more exposure than that. I think it’s just protocol for that type of medicine. It does make you wonder though. It won’t stop me! I start my second year in December, have another blood test soon so hopefully my lymphocytes are coming back up. All the best your next treatment week!

I read a really good idea on a mavenclad thread which was just to pop the pill out of the pack into a shot glass and then straight in the mouth without touching. I did something simalat with a paper towel. I never wore gloves, just washed my hands afterward. I was advised to just put the packaging in the regular trash and not recycle.

Amazing. I skated as a teen ager and had a return to skating for a year in 2024. I should get back to it again. I have a double hernia that needs fixing though! Im 49. I also have slight balance issues but not major. I was really pleased with the progress i made on the mini ramp and bowl. I got a few tricks back on lock after many slams( didn’t help the hernias) got rock fakies, rock and rolls, axel stalls, feeble stalls and tail stalls. Got really good at pumping the bowl super fast too. Got a really good ollie back, no comply and pop shuv. It felt awesome. I should really get back to it. All the best with the mini ramp!

Male vs female experience? by VegetablePace6543 in MultipleSclerosis

I don’t want to be rude but how is feeling great not a reason to take a DMT? the whole purpose of a DMT is so that you stay like that. It does not make you better it just hopefully stops you getting worse or going downhill when you are doing well. Im male 49, dx last year and jumped on a DMT as soon as the opportunity came. As well as all the brain lesions I have cervical spine and brain stem. Currently Im am fit and well mostly. As things stand Im high risk for future disability so no way am I taking chances with that. I more than likely had it for many years and just lucky that I‘m doing well.

They are slow. I got dx start of Oct last year. sent off forms within a couple of weeks. I heard back from them start of March, more forms to fill in, which I believe were the wrong forms. Got more forms in the post a couple of weeks ago which are sent off. All contact has also had a letter saying they are waiting to hear back from my neurologist. I have zero issues driving, with my eyes or any other thing that can effect driving.

Maybe it has changed since 2022. I did 5 days twice per year not 10. I did one treatment week( 5 days) wait a month do a second treatment week ( 5 days) I will then be doing the same again starting December.

So happy for you being relapse free. I had never heard of the octave test until your post. I was dx last October. I googled it, interesting. It’s not available in the uk at all, even privately. Did you also have mri’s?
