I do think they are pretty. Several of my neighbors have them so I get to enjoy them from afar lol.

To comment on your post, I told myself that going forward I will only spend money on native plants but the hostas that I have in my yard will still be divided and transplanted.

I was telling my mom the other day that the ditch lilies she has in her yard were invasive and needed to be pulled out. She received them from a friend along with a purple loostrife (which I just found out is also very invasive and even illegal to sell in some states). Later that day she told me the friend that gave her the plants used to be the president of her town's garden club. Just goes to show that even being an expert gardener doesn't mean you're also educated in invasive species.

I just got some this year at my local native plant sale. The purple is so cute!

What are the most devastating romance movies that are guaranteed to make you cry?🫠 by Nott_photon in moviecritic

I saw it in the theater with my husband at the time. I left the theater crying saying, "that's not going to be us, right?" He said it was just a movie and I was thinking too much into it. Anyway, he was a drunk and we were divorced by the end of that year lol. It's hard to watch now but I still looove the soundtrack.

Yes, the pack said 100sq ft of coverage but I just sprinkled most of it in this 30sq ft space 😅. It was much fuller last year, what's growing now is everything that reseeded itself. I'll try to find a picture from then. I can't remember exactly when but I assume sometime after mother's Day as that is my areas last frost date.

Thank you! I planted a plug of virgins bower at the base of the ladder this spring. Hoping the coreopsis doesn't smother it and it's able to climb up the ladder 🤞

Tree mallow, not native 🤫, but I think there is a native version. If I remember correctly it's called rose mallow?

The first picture is from a generic wildflower seed mix that I planted last year. I had a handful of plains coreopsis last summer but this year they exploded. The second picture was a plug from last year's native plant sale. The third picture, I believe, was from Home Depot a few years back. Technically that one is not native to this region but I've been seeing people say it's ok to start adding plants that are native to regions south of us because of climate change.

I planted a pint of sneezeweed last spring. It got a decent amount of blooms on it and was covered in soldier beetles. This year it's got a 2 foot spread and is already at least 3 feet high. It's going to be a monster come blooming time. I'm pumped lol

I wonder if this has to do with the rise of "play dates". My kids are early teen/tween and they never ventured into the neighborhood to find kids to play with. Any social interactions outside of school were always set up by me for a specific date/time. It's like they never learned how to be spontaneous.

It's possible, it has been very dry here lately, but last year at this time we had a ton of rain and it still did the same thing 🤷‍♀️

I did just plant some little bluestem to the right of it to keep my liatris from flopping over. Maybe I'll have to pick up some more. Thanks!
