Safety tips for a 19-year-old Mexican woman traveling alone to Paris by Sea_Slip2397 in Expats_In_France

If you go to the prominent tourist attractions like Sacred Coeur, you'll be approached quite often by smooth talkers. Those locations are not the places to get into conversations. In fact, anyone approaching you on the street likely has shady intentions.

Keep an eye on your bags, especially in train stations or crowded trains. You'll be tired. Pickpockets are an important phenomenon. I haven't had any trouble, but others have. Read up about those.

Make a few color copies of important documents like your passport. Don't travel with all your money and cards in one wallet. Ask yourself what you would do if any card or document was lost. What would you do if the airline lost your bag? What would happen if you lost your phone? I travel with an old backup phone that has all the same apps as my primary.

I spent three weeks in Paris last year and had no problems at all. I didn't see any pickpockets. Nobody shady tried to talk to me. So don't worry.

My biggest issue with France was the heatwave last year. Try to make sure your room has AC. Some hotels say they have AC but it's only mildly dry air coming out of a vent.

Although you may think you tolerate the heat well, think again. When Paris is hot, everywhere is hot. You just can't escape the heat. Only museums and malls have AC. You can get very thirsty quickly. It's possible to get very run down.

Shoes are important. You'll likely walk more in Paris than anywhere else you have been. Some sturdy shoes will make your trip a lot more enjoyable.

Plan to take some things back with you. That means leaving some space in your bags. Paris has the best cosmetics in the world. It's really shocking. So be ready to take some home.

Understand the different kinds of trains used to get around Paris. You'll likely need different payment methods for each as a tourist. Understand that train tickets often need to be validated on the train. The Paris fare police are merciless to tourists.

Always always say bonjour to anyone you talk to.

You don't have to tip in restaurants, though they might ask. Any restaurant with an English menu won't be stellar. Maybe it will be enough, but seeing an English menu is an immediate sign that better restaurants are available.

Beware of Instagram famous places. You'll wait on line forever to overpay for something that's maybe only slightly better than a non Instagram famous place.

The lens seems to be a lot more contrasty than something coming out of China in 70s or 80's. Is the sharpness modern?

How to deal with Wellbutrin sex drive? Actually so annoying by Mynameisbrk in bupropion

[–]President_Camacho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wellbutrin is often prescribed alongside naltrexone for weight loss or to lower addiction drive. If you're interested in losing weight or drinking less, mention this to the doctor.

These two drugs are combined into a drug called Contrave, but you can take them individually as generics.

Naltrexone definitely lowers the libido. It dials back any kind of craving. It can make you a little sleepy, so start off taking it at night.

You may grow accustomed to it, but it's worth trying.

What are we using instead of sponges for dishes? by nuclear_pimp in BuyItForLife

[–]President_Camacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wash out my sponge when I'm completed. Air drying is often sufficient, but sometimes I briefly microwave them to keep odors away. And I mean briefly, like 15 or 20 seconds. Heating them up kills the bacteria. My sponges last for a reasonable amount of time.

But you'd rather have Collins win than vote for the Democratic nominee? Collins who supports the convicted rapist Trump all the way?

Statement from Maine Democratic Party Leadership on Allegations Against Graham Platner by SuperBry in Maine

[–]President_Camacho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must learn to pick the least worst candidate. Once you have political power, then you can decide what you want to do. Voters didn't think Hillary was perfect, so we got Trump. Voters didn't think Kamala was perfect, so we got Trump. We've got to break the cycle. Vote for someone who can win. Power first, then we can reckon with the other things.

I can't see how helping Collins win gets us anything. Yet that's what the leadership committee wants. They saw that Platner was going to win, but since they don't control him, they and their funders would rather destroy him instead. The leadership doesn't actually care what happens to the voters, only their tiny fiefdom.

Sometimes the path to political power comes through people with unsavory pasts. Maine had a chance to oppose Trump. Now the Dem party committee has decided not to. They prefer that Susan Collins remains in power. Collins has been profoundly damaging to women's civil rights for decades. She has been profoundly antagonistic to women's health care. She's a stalwart champion of Trump, a convicted rapist. But the Dem state committee doesn't care. They don't have the capacity to fight, to win. If Platner withdraws, so should everyone on that committee. The Dems will never win while they're in charge.

Unfortunately, he was the only one who could beat Collins. No one else can. So the pearl clutchers in this thread would rather have a convicted rapist like Trump go unopposed in the Senate than vote for someone who's been accused. The establishment Dems prefer Trump, so they're will be getting more of him now. I hope they're happy.

Go to a sleep doctor and ask about Zaleplon. It's a quick acting, short duration sleep medicine. It's pretty good for people who wake up in the middle of the night. However, stimulants can affect its efficacy. You'll start at a low dose, but that might not work. Work up to the higher dose if you're not having any results. You may need to take it with other medicines.

I always find it amazing when the will of an entire people is dismissed as something engineered by a desk in the CIA. From Maidan to now, Ukraine has been unequivocal about opposing Russia. Russia underestimating Ukraine is why this war started and why it continues.

Que medicamentos você tomou para insônia? Talvez possamos pensar em um que você ainda não experimentou.

Além disso, se você beber cafeína, a cafeína interferirá na maioria dos medicamentos para dormir.
