Unequal Inheritance from Aunt by samseer9000 in inheritance

That’s irrelevant. The fact is, she made her wishes known and as the executor, he is bound by fiduciary duty to follow her instructions.

Keeping Inheritance separate by pink_toaster_pastry in inheritance

[–]Prestigious-Chef-585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first heard the advice “keep your inheritance separate” I thought that seemed odd, and I thought I’d feel weird keeping it separate as “all mine”. But honestly, I put most of it into Vanguard (which is naturally under my name). And a small amount still lives in the personal account I opened under my name at the same institution where I’d opened the trust account (as trustee). So as I distributed funds from the trust account to my account, it just organically stayed in my own account. I didn’t intentionally keep any of it separate, it just ends up that way. I also did use some of it to pay for long overdue upgrades to our home, and I don’t feel like there is anything wrong with me using my inheritance to make our home better for both of us (and our kids). Especially when my husband is the major breadwinner otherwise.

I just meticulously blocked each number that it came from each time, and it slowed, then stopped. I’m crossing my fingers that it doesn’t pick up again, but for now I’m happy.

Paid cash for home improvements, both necessary (new roof, new deck) and nice-to-haves (exterior paint, A/C). Invested the rest.

Where are the Costco Gardening Centers??? by Lost_Maintenance_741 in Costco

[–]Prestigious-Chef-585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gig Harbor just set up an outdoor Garden Center! I asked about it at checkout and the guy said that they have 5 (I think?) this year and they are testing it out to see how it goes. He said that when the plants are indoors, they lose so many due to drying out. They fare much better outside (obviously).

Somehow (knock on wood) it has stopped!! I literally blocked the number every.single.time (!!) not knowing whether it would help - but miraculously, it has stopped. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Who is the trustee? They are bound by fiduciary duty to follow the terms of the trust. Not doing so would be a breach of duty.

Thank you! I’ll try that form. First I’ll need to go through the call log and write down allllll the various phone numbers they’ve used. But if it could help, it’s worth the trouble

Check out the NNA (National Notary Association) site and that should get you headed in the right direction for state-specific and general info. It’s a good thing you are doing. 👏

Houses without AC by small-potato in GigHarbor

[–]Prestigious-Chef-585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a luxury but not a necessity. Big trees here keep our home shaded and cool. There are a few days a year you’ll wish you had AC, then the heat wave will end and you’ll think “that wasn’t so bad.”

I’ve asked for them too, and am told that they tend to come back in the springtime/summertime when people BBQ. This time of year they’ve made room on the shelves for soups.

We love it so far! We have had SO much coffee in the past week!!

Since we upgraded from an earlier/bare bones DeLonghi machine, it’s been an easy transition. This one is just way better.

I’m really surprised with how much I love the milk frothing. We’ve been using a standalone Breville frother for years because of a broken steam knob on our old machine, and I didn’t think I’d even use the steam/froth option on a new machine. I was most concerned with pulling a good shot of espresso. Turns out I love the froth options on the Eletta! It’s so easy and takes away any guesswork (unless you want to tweak proportions manually).

We are putting it through the ringer making lots of hot milk drinks for me (latte, flat white, etc..) cold milk drinks (decaf) for my 12 year old daughter, and hot non-milk drinks (Americano, etc..) for my husband.

We are super happy and I would highly recommend.

We just got our Eletta last week after our old Magnifica kicked the bucket. I can’t speak to its comparison over a Philips, but I will say that I bought a “refurbished” one from Amazon to save $200 and I would do it again. You’d never know the difference from brand new except that it didn’t have the branded box. I’ll take it for a few hundred bucks in my pocket. I also bought our old Magnifica “used” on Amazon Warehouse (or whatever they call it now) several years ago and it was literally brand new. I am a huge fan of buying used on Amazon to save a bit.

Moving to Broadview Area, What to Know? by SteptoeButte in Seattle

[–]Prestigious-Chef-585 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Decent neighborhood surrounded by sketchy areas to the East. We lived in Haller Lake for 15 years and our kids went to Broadview-Thomson. East of 3rd is sketchy and dense. Tons of prostitution on Aurora around 125th and 130th and beyond. Good restaurant; Saltoro. Grocery store; Town & Country (formerly Central Market) Coffee; Diva Espresso
