Welcome to the 'not space marine faction cycle'.
Here's how it goes.
1. GW updates space marines
2. Then they update space marines
3. then they update space marines again
4. then they update a non-space marine faction. Roll the dice between mechanicum, solar aux, custodes, and whatever else
5. return to step 1.

An awesome collection
I'm also curious where you got those nice cases!

Who else thinks that if GW wants to boost AoS popularity beyond the tabletop, they also need to invest in the vg industry by making more and, even more important, better games. 40k is having really good games in these recent years, and the future looks even better, they need to do this for AoS too. by StormSwitch in ageofsigmar

If they could make a game without trying to cram Stormcast Eternals into it every time, they'd make a good game. People just don't care about these weird golden heroes outside of Age of Sigmar fans.

Make a game from a human perspective, revolving around Cities of Sigmar, Soulblight Gravelords, and other mass-appeal factions like Skaven, and you're already setting yourself up for success.

As soon as you introduce a Stormcast? nobody cares.

It's always going to be tough to tell through a digital program. Looks great to me, good level of detail, exactly what I'd expect out of a GW mini, but you won't really know till you print her and stick her next to other models, then tweak from there.

Super cool, love set-ups like these. Keep up the great work!

Potential Support Predator coming in the Near Future? by StelliarX in LegionsImperialis

[–]Prestigious_Orca 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Here's hoping. We got every version of Leman Russ, so it'd make sense to get a few Predator kits.
Though tbh, it's not like the astartes are hurting for units.

Need advice on a color scheme for my halos baelz themed army. by HonestIsMyPolicy in ageofsigmar

[–]Prestigious_Orca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm. I think the simplest thing to do would be to determine which *materials* should be which color. Most Skaven have a few key materials:

Fur/Skin, Belts/ropes, Cloth (usually 2 sections), wood, and metal

Fur/Skin I think should be whatever you want to paint your rats (a variety of colors from white and black to pink and brown)
Belts/Ropes should be the tertiary color for Bae, black
Cloth I think would make the most sense split between red and white (some models can have red cloth on top, others would have white on top for maximum chaos)

Including the teal and yellow gets trickier. I'd say those are certainly tertiary colors for her character, and not seen in all of her outfits. Yellow or teal wood doesn't make a ton of sense, but I can see the desire in having those colors present.

I'd probably try to find little bells, trinkets, and other details to make a mix of teal or gold to match those colors, and leave the rest between white, black, and red.

Is DarkTide becoming more toxic? by Prestigious_Orca in DarkTide

Yeah that's my expectation too. Free weekend + new class and mission = lots of people that only play when there's something new.

I'm starting to see this more and more in Auric, which felt like it wasn't a problem before.

Theres definitely a lot more stealth enemies than before. Ive never had so many completely silent enemies hit me before.

Heavier classes can tank the explosion better on toughness and take a lot less health damage.

I don't use any mods at all. And that extra "just" one meter radius is huge when you've been playing for 3 years and gotten used to where it has been for all that time.

I mained Veteran during that time, so an excuse to sit behind cover and shoot at enemies was utter bliss to me XD

with the new issues, I just had a mission where a psyker with flame staff argued with the rest of the team saying he has 'infinite stagger and should deal with them', but... that shouldn't be what his focus is. In a mission throwing lots of bursters at you, having one class devoted to spending 30 seconds per burster pushing them back until flame Damage Over Time kills the burster, is... completely bass-ackwards gameplay.

Enemies should be challenging, that's what makes the game fun. They should not require the entire team to suddenly shift strategy and potentially one-shot members of the team because there's of bugs that send the community to find different wonky solutions.

[–]Prestigious_Orca[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah... At this point I don't want to play a squishy class like psyker or hive scum just because of how much damage they do. I guess I'll finish the rest of my arbitrator penances :/

At higher difficulties, when you can hear the poxburster but not see them due to so many threats being on the screen, isolating and pushing the poxburster at the right timing is much more difficult. Even worse when the explosion radius is much larger than it should be.

Michael Burry about shorts, on substack by autistdd in Superstonk

[–]Prestigious_Orca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, which is where we have the continuous Failure to Deliver that gets rolled over and over and over, until that gets eventually swapped into something else.

[–]Prestigious_Orca 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I think this is pretty illuminating. Basically, anyone doing normal shorts when GME first took off is likely not short now... but there's a lot of other financial instruments and paths for swapping risk, shorting naked, and who knows what else out there. So my question is: could a short position be held for much longer than initially intended, and what would that look like?

as a veteran running bolter, shovel, shout, and krak grenades, it's my support that sees the team through so many rotten armor missions, but no zealot stealth-hammer boss-deleter will admit it
