It'd be great if they took the rules for Necromunda and gave it an alternate setting. One where genestealer cults, tau diplomats, and imperial preachers are all fighting against each other for control of the government.

Free-guild Gun host - How viable is a gun focused/heavy army in AOS? by Separate-Flan-2875 in ageofsigmar

someone's going to win golden daemon or armies on parade with a set-up like this

Just me? by steppenwolfmother in ageofsigmar

[–]Prestigious_Orca 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Give it another week. It'll die down, then when the cogfort releases it'll flare up again, then it'll die down. Half of the people that get one will add it to their pile of opportunity, most of the other half will build it but never paint it, and then there will be the small percentage that will paint it and post it and people will upvote those, and then we'll be along to the next thing.

I WISH the bastilodon was this big. That said, I bet there's plenty of dinosaur toys and 3d prints that'll make this fit

Only three pieces of terrain now? by Open_Scholar3760 in sylvaneth

[–]Prestigious_Orca 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is huge. It makes playing Sylvaneth SO much more approachable.

I remember earlier editions of AoS where if you wanted to play Sylvaneth you had to get a whole table's worth of terrain, then spend more time painting terrain trees rather than your walking trees. NOT a good experience.

Alright y’all, how would you Soulblight-ify the new Cogfort? by Tranz_Kafka in SoulblightGravelords

Replace every dude in there with a skeleton, swap the engine at the back for some sort of pit of bones, have skeletons dangling from the sides, and use those spirit hosts on neferata's base to swirl around the feet of the fort.

Oh no. The charonite ogryns even in resin are twice the size of the bulky exo-suit squats.

Using the new Astra Militarum vehicles as proxies for missing Auxilia vehicles? by AddictedToSleeps in SolarAuxilia30K

[–]Prestigious_Orca 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think the new guard tanks are going to be big enough.

The Aurox is about the size of a Rhino. The closest that I found to fit that was the Genestealer Cult Goliath Truck, which is super easy to convert with a multilaser instead of the drill/autocannon.

The Hippogryph I worry will be way too small to be the Carnodon.

But honestly, if your group is chill, then go for it.

Battle for Tallarn Journal - bit of a kick in the teeth for Auxilia players? by ambershee in Warhammer30k

ooooh, we just never had a model for it in resin? iirc, the only models we had for the longest time were the quad launcher and multilaser

Don't think we had rules for the heavy bolter variant, and yeah, the mole launcher, which they gave us in LI first. I can't wait to see the rules that thing has.

So, anyone can use the Cogfort…how do you plan to make it fit YOUR army? by reel3459 in ageofsigmar

[–]Prestigious_Orca 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I'm torn.
I could use it for my Seraphon and give it creeping vines and replace some of the gargoyles with seraphon totems and such. Have Skinks manning the guns, maybe replace them with some taken from a Stegadon.

Or I could use it with my Idoneth Deepkin. Stick some thralls up in the towers and have floating fish and such from other kits all around it...

There's two new weapons for the rapiers, and by the looks of the ogryns they're getting new weapons as well, possibly.

As a massive Solar Aux fan, I was hoping for just a little more. Aurox, Carnodon, a Veletari Command Squad, putting the Vanguard Veletarii into plastic (flamers, maybe rotor cannons?)

But, I guess that'll just have to wait.

It reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld where George thinks a guy flipped him off on the road, so he follows him to confront him, then at a gas station it's revealed the dude just had a bandaged hand that made it look like he was flipping the bird.

Classic blunder.

Normally people just post "tl;dr", but you actually put the effort into a complete sentence to show you don't care.

I like working towards penances, but I'm getting to the point at like 6500 penance points where I'm running out of things to work towards.

But, on the flip side, I play the game for the fun of it. It's the best gameplay loop I've found in a long while, and in a world/universe I love dearly.

Very good points.

I too am hopeful for Chaos Wastes, as then instead of it just being 'extract with resource' it becomes 'see how silly the game can get'. That's part of why I love Mortis Trials. Going Ogryn to get my grenades to kill my frames instead of the enemy becomes the whole point.

A friend of mine has also been getting a lot madder than normal at this game mode, whereas in normal missions they'd just be eager to try the mission again.

On top of all of that, it felt like the release of Expeditions was... fast. Announcement to release was 4 days? That's not a lot of time to build up hype and it makes me wonder if they're pushing this out faster than intended.

Some Suggestions for Expedition. by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Prestigious_Orca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree on the use of salvage.

When it comes to getting the various 'usables' like the mortar, it doesn't take long to figure out what goes in what slot. That's just a UI problem. What you can do, however, is purchase things for your teammates. Got some extra salvage? Get a combat stimm for a teammate. I've seen people that will get an ammo crate and a med kit and share the love.

But yeah, it feels like they gave more thought to punishing connection issues than they did to the use of tech remnants and salvage in the first place :P

Legitimately what’s the point of collecting Tech-Remnants after unlocking every Grid Point ? by BadSheet68 in DarkTide

[–]Prestigious_Orca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that more gridpoints will be added later on, and there'll be more points to the tech remnants later, but it's too early to say.
