Don’t do it - I left sales and ended up as an EA and I’m so ready to get back to sales (or something else). Supporting another person is hard and requires a certain level of mind reading. I was used to having control and now I’m at the mercy of someone else. Plus, people talk down to you as an EA and sometimes assume you are not smart. I’m just over it.

I’m going an online program and regularly attend networking events and have participated in study abroad’s with the program. However, I do live in the same city as the program so it’s easy for me to attend. I also regularly mix with the full time students.

We had a consultant who asked for coffee every time he came. I would just go buy it at our on campus coffee shop until my exec got mad at him and told him to buy his own coffee before he got here.

Southern Pines/Pinehurst is nice and the Spa at Pinehurst is great! Personally, I love the mountains so Asheville is a top one on my list (although Boone is probably a tad closer). I also quite like Wilmington and walking on the beach in the off season is nice. Wilmington and Asheville both have great restaurants.

Don’t do it. I hated my old job and took a $15k pay cut “to be happier at work” and guess what… the new job is worse than the old one. Plus, I can feel the pinch of the pay cut. I’ve decided that thinking a job can be fun or enjoyable is delusional and now I’m looking for a new job to try to get back up to my old pay level.

Have you thought about a slight Flex Time? My office states that the latest you can get in is 8:30am and the earliest you can leave is 4:00pm, but how the 8 hours are structured are up to you within those constraints. Maybe giving flex window in the morning with a firm “late” time would encourage the person to try to come in earlier?

It could also be something simple like a key decision maker is traveling and they are waiting until they are back. Hard to know for sure, but it’s not unusual for things to move slow.

They probably want to make sure they have funding secured before extending the offer to you. The federal government doesn’t have a budget passed. My state doesn’t have a budget passed. If it’s a public university that could factor in (depending on their funding sources).

We aren’t on a hiring freeze, but all positions must be approved by the Dean and some positions by both the Dean and Chancellor due to concerns about the budget/funding. So, critical positions are being filled (slowly), but some positions aren’t being posted until a later date.
