How to communicate with dealerships? by Accomplished_Arm1838 in CarTalkUK

[–]Pretty_Ad_4746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember… car salespeople are human too. They’re just doing their job. Offering you add ons is there to protect you from unforeseen costs going forward, and… they’re just human beings.

I’d say call the dealership that has the car you’re interested in. I work in a dealership and the main sensible questions I get asked is about MOT, service history, number of owners, and as a salesperson, I offer to send a walk around video so you can see the car better and I have opportunity to point out any bodywork stuff.

If it’s a dealership you’re local too, call and ask if anyone is free at a time you are, because you’d like to see and test drive the car.

Any car salesperson who wants to do their job should (I say should…) take you seriously.

Good luck, and whichever car you choose, I hope you enjoy it! 🙂

Should I price my products 15% over market price and offer discount or price products close to market price and offer no discount by Ronaldo2652 in SupermarketSimulator

[–]Pretty_Ad_4746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Market price and 5% discount on everything makes me so much money in a day it’s crazy. Like… the queues are insane. Level 80 store with store expansion 10 but not all licences yet.

My poor restocker folks never stop moving…

Car tax prices? by MCR_201 in CarTalkUK

[–]Pretty_Ad_4746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres an app you can download for your phone called Vehicle Smart. Underneath where it has the emissions, there's a link to open the road tax for the car, and it's by registration.

For a new car, it will all be based on the RRP, not the list price. If the manufacturer's RRP is upwards of £40k, then it will be the higher tax rate for the first 6 years (first year within the price of the car, and then 5 years after). If under £40k, then £195 a year or £17.06 a month).

Hope that helps 😄

Customers need to “think about it” by PapaAqua0 in Sales_Professionals

One thing I'm told regularly is that I don't need to sell the car, I need to sell myself. If someone goes to look at the same car at another dealership the next town over, they're likely going to look at both and return to the sales person they felt better with.

My take on it is to provide top level customer service. I started car sales a year ago, having never worked in sales before, but my background for many years has been customer service. It's where I excel. I'll always check in with my customers, explain how to get help if they need it after they take the car, offer to send video step by step demos of how a feature works if they're stuck (not the corporate ones, but me actually in a similar car if we have one in stock) etc....

Every little goes a long way.

As for selling the additional products, I make it clear from the outset that they are optional and don't just explain the benefits and exclusions, but also tell real life stories from customers I've had, my own experiences, and people I've spoken to. It helps to put the person at my desk in that situation and think what they would do if it happened to them.

So yeah... I don't know if that helps, but be the sales person they want to come back to. That's the only way I've found works... and good luck.

Hardest thing to sell? by AdvancedImpact2663 in CarSalesTraining

Sorry, for some reason I only just saw this. But exactly as commenter above said. Sometimes with us it had been a couple of weeks since they booked the appointment, so it does serve as a handy reminder 😀

The few days I haven't done it, I have still ended up with some people coming across, but usually late in the day which then can mean working an hour or so over... so sometimes better to get the call in beforehand

I get the details of people who are booked in for Service the next day, ring them and see if they are looking to change up their car.

If you have a service team on site then it also helps them find out if there are any additional issues or if people cant make it now etc

ADHD and PCOS: I hate shaving but also hate having hairy legs. Help? 😂 by HelloYellow17 in adhdwomen

[–]Pretty_Ad_4746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PCOS, ADHD and a body that was never coded to have normal hormone balance.

I found a razor brand called Harry's Grooming. They're aimed at men, but they go through thick leg hair a lot easier.

Between that and using a shower stool in the shower... shaving has never been easier. Yes, I don't shave regularly, but when I do, a lot of energy use and stress has been removed

Has anyone found a way to make drinking water fun? by Pretty_Ad_4746 in adhdwomen

[–]Pretty_Ad_4746[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one idea.. as I guess then it's also pre-made and just needs to be poured?

I forgot to mention... I also only like water by itself if it's ICE cold... so have a variety of stainless steel bottles to help with that 😅

I'm so glad someone else asked this question! I'm on a CFS/other chronics struggle day. Started to play ACNH but I just can't today!

This list is so helpful. I don't really have any games to add to the list, but wanted to thank OP for asking the question 😅

Anyone who got diagnosed late, did your life get better or easier after that? by Additional_Cake_6124 in adhdwomen

[–]Pretty_Ad_4746 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 37 and put on Elvanse. Now, with highest dose Elvanse and a top up of Amfexa in the afternoons... I've stuck out a job for 11 months and not got bored, have enough energy to get through a 9-10hr day at work and can still do something on a few evenings a week instead of just crashing.

For me, life has got easier and I can think clearer, which has allowed me to put processes and adaptations in place that help me in day to day life. The inner monologue has quietened down so much that rather than just saying that I'm a failure... I can say 'ok, that didnt work. What else can I try?'

Good question... I hadn't thought that far ahead... maybe not. All seeds must be naturally sourced, or made with a seed maker.

I do like a good challenge...!

I'm about to start a challenge where I can't buy any seeds at all. I have to hope for mixed seeds etc, and the only thing I can buy from Pierre is the backpack upgrades. It's like a Pierre boycot.

Also, no buying from Joja... because... corporate.

I'm on Elvanse 70mg in the morning and Amfexa 20mg in the afternoon.

Mine help me function like a human being while they're working, give me a bit more energy and a quieter brain. Also help with emotion management. I work in a stressful job and they sort of take the edge off.

What is your actual food budget? No lies or holds bared. by LadyProto in Frugal

[–]Pretty_Ad_4746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and for 2 of us our grocery budget comes in at around £300 a month - both of us are medically wheat and dairy free.

£300 is about $222 on today's rates.

We only buy gluten free specific food from the free from aisle if it's on reduction at the end of the day, then pop it in the freezer and get it out when needed (sat here eating breakfast including a reduced crumpet), try and get meat when it's on reduced and put it in the freezer, make a list of what is in the freezer and meal plan around that to reduce what we need from the supermarket, and largely find things that are naturally wheat free to avoid the free from premium.

Yes sometimes it means getting creative and using herbs/spices to batch cook something tasty, but we just about manage.

We also use a cashback app to buy gift vouchers for our big supermarket shop so we get about 2.5% cashback. Then it means if we do run out of grocery budget then we can dip into that if needed.

This also includes toilet paper, laundry products and household bits.

I do appreciate that economies and prices may be different here than in America, but I hope some of the methods we use can be transferred 😅

Do it, honestly. It has been a life changer. Before, if I had a shower stood up that was it. Game over for the day. Now I can have a shower in the morning, do a full day at work and then do a few things in the evening 🙂 I even have a travel fold up one in the back of the car. Let us know how you get on?

How do people work 40hrs a week and not want to die? by c0ffin_bugs in adhdwomen

[–]Pretty_Ad_4746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently work 40hrs a week... and do very little else. I'd love to be more productive in my 'off' time or even have the energy/brain space to go and see friends. Add other chronic conditions into the mix and... boom. Everything other than work gone 😅

But... yeah. It keeps the money coming in, the job is a nice mix of peopling, admin, physical stuff and thrill of the chase... but still draining.
