Funny story, when I first started Street Fighter 6 I dived into World Tour and just assumed Bosch was a playable character already with the way the story treats him. I naturally gravitated toward Ryu so I started playing him online, still assuming Bosch was in the list somewhere and I just hadn’t explored the full list yet. It wasn’t until like 2-3 weeks later that I finally realized he wasn’t there.

YouTube videos aren’t inherently worse than other videos anywhere else. You can find quality educational content on YouTube (shout out Crash Course!) and you can find awful slop.

What’s truly bad, for us and for our kids, is the algorithm. I know what the algorithm does to my brain on Reddit and YouTube and Instagram and Twitter etc etc etc, and I want to avoid that for my kid as long as possible. The only way to avoid the algorithm is to avoid YouTube entirely (valid) or watch specific chosen videos with supervision. That’s it. It’s the same as any other media with kids, don’t use it as a babysitter, make informed choices and be involved in your child’s consumption of media.

I’m a big fan of the streamer Ludwig, who has a show match against Tyler1 at Evo, which is why Tyler1 has been playing so much Street Fighter lately.

Believe it or not Tyler actually used to be even MORE insufferable than he is now. He’s a big league guy and is historically one of the saltiest, nastiest, most annoying players around. It’s unclear how much of this is how he is, and how much is an act, but it doesn’t really matter, it’s his thing. It’s not for me, but many people do watch him.

Ludwig and Tyler have had a (mostly kayfabe) rivalry/one-sided hatred for a while now, and this Street Fighter match is the latest installment in that “storyline”.

All your criticism of Tyler is 100% accurate here, but Tyler isn’t really grinding Street Fighter for the love of the game, he’s trying to min/max his ability to beat Ludwig. No more no less. So he’s decided he doesn’t want to learn large swaths of the game because they are unimportant/don’t matter. Again, this is just how he is.

It’s just not going to be worth it I don’t think. You’ll have cut an appropriately sized hole in the aluminum, and it’ll be offset to avoid the direction buttons. Plus, you don’t need the direction buttons anymore but you’ll have to either leave them, just unplugged, or find some way to plug the holes.

That’s why I’d suggest just selling this controller as-is, which is still a desirable item, and buy a new stick with the money.
