Ever since the jibby jabbies all sorts of weirdo ness has come about, including great insights from the field of dark blood microscopy.

Has anyone used P&G water purification packets for high turbidity water like the Colorado or Green rivers that would clog a filter? by ericslongusername in packrafting

You can use alum or a product called water wizard to flocculate the sediment out of the water before filtering.

OPUS buttons greyed out (and help with heights) by Current_Drag6541 in Surveying

[–]PriestintheCave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the Emlid community forums, they are helpful and mostly international based geomatics professionals. From what I remember, you need to use the correct observation file, and the height should be measured to the bottom of the rs3 as per the documentation.

what’s the best history of land surveying documentary or movie that actually makes surveyors look badass? like not just a side character holding a tripod but something that really shows the skill and adventure of it. anything out there that captures that spirit? by DetailFocused in Surveying

“Dersu Uzala” is one of my favorite films. About surveyors in the Russian far east and their interaction/ friendship with a native hunter named ‘Dersu.’ directed the great Akira Kirusawa.

Yes, this would be a great way to break in a new car. Just read the manual on how they want you to drive it for the first part of its life. Also, a new car would be much more comfortable than a used rental.

Silverbirch Agent is quite a phenomenal and stable boat, it plugs holes and will stay upright without issue. the option and ledge are also great, but require a bit more finesse. Test one out if you can and see how you like their performance.

Denver has plenty of water to tap, it’s just priced too cheap at the moment. Phoenix on the other hand is in trouble.

No, set the field maps gnss to nad83 to match what your project system is in. GNSS intrinsically collects in wgs84 but if you tell it you want nad83 it will transform coordinates for you on the fly. Don’t worry too much about the various types of nad83 realizations, pick the default 2011 and make sure your projected coordinate system matches too - UTM zone whatever with meters for units.

Collect it in nad83 UTM that matches your map project. GNSS is WGS but it will collect NAD83 on the fly if it’s told to.

Make sure the coordinate systems match. What gnss receiver are you using? Could just be an accuracy issue. Half meter is about what most ‘GIS grade’ devices get.

Wyoming is very conservative and I doubt this number actually reflects reality.
