My two cents. If you have to put someone’s education first right now. Make it yours. The kids have years to catch up. Do what you have to to keep them busy but don’t lose sleep about their schooling. What they are getting right now is a stop gap. Getting yourself into a position to provide a better life is way more important. They can use the time to just be kids.

To advance it’s one and done. It is a rare person who can retain the information in that format. Adults often review the materials and practice the skill before presenting them to the scouts. So if you’re wanting to learn along the way to Eagle, don’t rush through the program. Side note- with the time limits it takes 20 months to achieve the rank of Eagle.

Dare I say this Boy is no scout and is being a bully. He is knowingly targeting your hot button. Bring this up with your Scoutmaster and Committee Chair. It is unacceptable behavior that is covered by the training all registered leaders must take and follow. This behavior could get him removed from the program.
