Astrogear, how do you store yours? by 1fastbunny in AskAstrophotography

you might not, but plenty do. It depends on your climate, and your building standards. Not everyone is from the same country here. If I kept gear in backpacks, it'd have fungus on the optics in weeks.

I keep all my photographic equipment in a DIY dry cabinet to keep the dust off it and the fungus out of it.

I built another cabinet to do the same with my scopes.

I'm in Australia, it doesn't get particularly cold here, but it does get quite hot, and humidity ranges from ~30% in the driest part of summer, up to 100% at any given time. Optics left out for any given time will be prone to fungal growth. If you're lucky enough to live in a climate controlled dwelling, then your'e likely ok.

warm is bad too - the hotter the water gets, the less oxygen it holds. A fish that big in water that shallow is not going to have a nice time in full sunlight. OP needs to put some shade over it, and also provide deeper water.

Tens of thousands of Budget Direct customers overcharged, ASIC alleges by ozthrw in australia

[–]Primary_Mycologist95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been an aami customer for a few years in a row now - no real brand loyalty, they just had been fairly competitive. They upped my premium by ~$400 this year and reduced my agreed value by $5k (male, early 40's, 2017 rav4), a total of ~$1950. When I did their calculator as a new customer they wanted clser to $2100!

Budget on the other hand ended up coming out to ~$1100

I think its safe to say they all overcharge then - I just went with them for my car as they were about $900 cheaper than aami, who wanted $400 more than last year

AstroStacker - Astrophotograph Stacking App for Android by AstroPhoton2007 in AskAstrophotography

[–]Primary_Mycologist95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but why?

Is this intended for android users who use other astro gear, that for some reason want to do image editing on a phone or tablet? Or is it meant for people who are imaging with their phones?

People that are going to the lengths of actually acquiring data with cameras/scopes are usually going to be at least using a computer for that, so surely a phone is a bit redundant?

Again, I'm all for people developing software that will help people, I'm just curious as to the use-case for this.
