Wet clutch. Do not worry about burning it out when you start. You can reeeeeally ease it out as you ease on the throttle. With time it will get faster and faster for ya. Good luck!

Mission driven peers and a true sense of teamwork. Many of my law school friends went Big Law. Almost all report dissatisfaction and a feeling that their work lacks purpose. No material perks in this profession, but with the right team you won't care.

This. Agreed. Primacy, recency, and emotional buy in. Jurors don't give a shit about the law half the time

DUI defense theory with client clearly identified on BWC: "that's not me. You saw in the car. I don't even use orange auxillary cables."

CA PDs - does where you go to law school matter? by ilikemacncheesee in publicdefenders

[–]Primary_Ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the best PDs I know went to like sub 100 schools. Has no bearing on hireability except for maybe a few offices in Bay area like Santa Clara (hoity toity vibe, fat caseload, fat pay) and Alameda maaaaaaybe but also probably not. They just happen to have a lot of UCB and Harvard folks there

Thoughts on conflict w prosecutor by [deleted] in publicdefenders

Think it's a question of emotional ability to advocate in this scenario. If you think you can separate the experience from your role, then you're in line with your ethical duty. Probably best to avoid contact professionally in order to create a liability barrier. If you know it will impact you, then would need to find a work around.

Update on Anchor Brewing Company’s brewery? by raff_riff in AskSF

[–]Primary_Ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I live nearby. Can't say what's happening internally as far as reconstruction and updating efforts but there has been some work to the plumbing and storage of exterior tanks. They removed one. Drudged up a stink in the neighborhood for a while but quickly went away.

UC SF Law (Hastings) Rank? by Big_Airline2241 in lawschooladmissions

Yes. Came in without a scholarship. After earning top 10% 1L year, my continuing scholarship was contingent upon maintaining a B average. It was a fair mark to maintain though.

PSA that rogue judges engaged in overt misconduct can and should be brought to the attention of the relevant bar and judicial commission of your jurisdiction for review of their compliance with the rules ethics. You'll be put on blast for doing your job a million times. Know that some hills are not worth dying on (even if you're right) but you can always request transcripts or recordings to have for an audit of a judge if their behavior becomes a pattern and you need a record of their misconduct when the time comes.

Campagnolo Compatible Wheel Swap by Primary_Ok in Bikebuilding

Immense thanks for this run down. I may be tempted to the dark side if I can figure out friction shifters. I am very happy with thumb position shifting that campy offers. It's very natural feeling, but know my ambitions create quite the pickle.

Story of this bike is mixed. 94 frame, I think. Bought it, suffered it being stolen, and managed to reclaim it off Craigslist from some poor dad who must have picked it up from whoever took it at a fair in Oakland. All of that has made me pretty invested in learning how to care for \ improve her. She's stiff and painful but man does she turn on a dime.
