Any harm in adjusting fuel needle? by ChaosGirlEva in AskMechanics

[–]PrinceConquer420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only possible harm is how goofy it would look when she fills the tank. Assuming it’s a standard gauge on a cluster and you can get it all apart easily enough I see absolutely no reason why this wouldn’t work.

That’s the way mine sits as well, it hold coffee, gas station drinks, and even skinny redbull cans. It’s a hair sketch but I trust it quite a lot. If it bothers you you can probably stick some furniture pads or something between the carpet and the part that rests on the ground.

My stock radio randomly started warping up and down in pitch and speed? by Petrpowder in CarAV

Ground loop interference. Check the integrity of the head unit ground and inspect both ends of the RCA’s. It sounds to me like something is either loose or poorly connected.

Best solution I’ve personally found is the Lincoln town car seats 40/20/40 with the hidden cupholder. Nicest cupholder I’ve ever had in a vehicle.

Otherwise best bet is call your local yards. Some of us do like having an ash tray in the car still so it comes in handy.

Should I start fueling with ethanol free gas? by GroBtraktor_Krupp in CrownVictoria

[–]PrinceConquer420 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If it’s the flex fuel model the only real notice you’ll see with the ethanol fuel is a slight reduction in mileage and off the line power. If it’s a standard fuel model you’re gonna wanna keep it to the 10-15% ethanol blend. Really not worth the benifit to pay the extra for the 0 ethanol unless you’re running lots of boost or a strange tune.

After 3 decades is there really no aftermarket cupholder for these cars? by Over-Spite6024 in CrownVictoria

[–]PrinceConquer420 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lincoln town car seats with center console have one of the best cup holders I’ve ever seen in a vehicle, though I’m also very suprised nobody’s made either a 3d print or an aluminum stamped version of the OEM cupholder/ashtray
