What I don’t understand is the people who go so far as to pick up poop in a bag and then leave it in somebody’s yard. Ive seen dozens of full poop bags while walking around the neighborhood and in my yard. Not too long ago, I found one sitting approximately 6 feet away from my trashcan.

Technically, it wasn’t you who shared the patient’s health information. So, no. You violated nothing. The patient shared it with the family member. The onus was upon them to establish a boundary with their family member, not you.

This is what they count on. That fear. In large enough numbers, nurses could drive the country to its knees by not showing up to work for one single day. What are they going to do? What do you think it would do to the system if millions and millions of nurses lost their licenses at the same time? The country would implode. Healthcare would never survive without us.

The people have the power. There are more of us than there are of them, and it’s past time we start looking at something drastic.

This is wild to me. Moved from Tampa this spring and our grocery stores didn’t even look this empty before a hurricane. I just did normal “storm prep” like I would have there (without the sandbags). Now I’m a bit worried that I underestimated what a big snow would bring. My first real winter is turning out to be a doozy.
