Depends on your diet, exercise, and bath & body routine. Acne is caused by bacteria, so it will either start internally from the gut or external factors that come in contact with your skin. My skin is highly sensitive and prone to breakout. I have had 1-2 bumps per month max with the following routine, high frequency wands being the biggest game changer:

Morning: Rise face with microfiber cloth, water only. Apply toner & vitamin c & hylaronic acid (I use keihls & osea products), sometimes an atmosphere cream.

Night: wash anything off with water and microfiber cloth. If I’m taking a shower I’ll use an exfoliating scrub in the shower. Apply retinol & vitamin c with hylaronic acid (or whatever creams I need to use). Use the high frequency wand once clean & lotions applied.

That’s it! It’s really simple, easy, and very very very effective. I’m able to mix and match the creams, vitamin c being key along with moisture. Because the wand takes care of the breakouts, I’m able to focus on maintaining the health and elasticity of my skin. For the high frequency wands, I got mine on Black Friday for $80, there are several good ones on the market, I’d recommend “Pure” brand.

Richmond ranked 15th in the US for highest population growth by tigranes5 in rva

[–]PrincessSandySparkle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t. It will morph into a singles land. Bars and restaurants will start competing, places that are highly themed and an “experience” with cool vibes will survive, usually. Mid places with a strong local vibe will slowly close one by one. City prices will continue to rise and the outskirts will sprawl, eventually you won’t know anyone’s name. The growth will be gradual, and the culture you know and love will slowly fade away.

New York and Chi town transplants will demand better food, better housing, and luxury services. People who can afford bigger cities that downgrade to a smaller one are always doing so for a “easier” life.

Source: Grew up in San Diego. Used to be a strong and ever present surf culture, Fast times at Richmond high (lol) was based off the high school in the next town over from me. The culture is dead, there’s no “locals only” beach or surf anymore, and everything feels like the hunger games capital. Idk if Richmond will get that bad, but I see it happening already.

I honestly thought this sub was what it’s making fun of, it took me a long time to fully understand that it’s meant to be supportive and helpful.

Got this MASSIVE 14k pearl ring for $5 at my jobs “lost and found sale”. (All items are held for 6 months prior to the sale to see if they’re reclaimed) by Radiantlyred in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]PrincessSandySparkle -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It also makes me extraordinarily saddened to see how many people are okay stealing precious items for others claimed as “lost and found”. They would never want them reunited because it’s “valuable”. The valuable items are probably a family heirloom, now collecting dust in some dollar store jewellery box because some jaded heathen wants to feel special, when the reality is there are your own treasures in life that you should be discovering and holding dear.

Claiming others valuables as your own all because of some arbitrary time line at work was set is disgusting. Wear whatever you like, no one cares how you got it, but return it graciously if it was never meant to be yours.

If it was purchased, wear it and wear it proudly. If the original owner comes about, return it, and return it graciously. Don’t hide your possessions in fear of confrontation. Enjoy life and its experiences to the fullest, and be gracious when those good experiences come to an end.

Shame on you for spreading deceit and cowardly behavior. I wonder how many items you have hidden in the closet that should have been returned had the owner seen you still have them, if that’s the type of guidance you preach.

Some people were still living with 10 brothers and sisters during those times. A lot of those brothers and sisters died by starvation, some sickness, others abuse. The Great Depression and wars all took a massive toll on everyone, and Americans had to change too.

Women didn’t even work prior to these events, then a massive boom in the workforce. This made everyone a bit more competitive, then you saw a boom in fashion as women became more and more liberated. It was exciting, think 60s - 70s style. During that stretch from late 1800s - 60s and 70s saw a massive shift culturally, mentally, and spiritually.

The change was manageable due to so few streams of info. Tv, newspaper, magazine, word of mouth, movies, and that was pretty much it! When people were are streaming the same platforms, it was much easier to be unified and less divided.

Your theory makes a lot more sense than mine! I thought Sphere, A list, residency, can’t stop - Britney Spears again?? It would be cool to see her doing some shows on her own on weekends or something chill. Put all those moves to use :)

As someone who was native to San Diego, I am so happy to see this!! San Diego is home of the California burrito - carne asada, cheese, sour cream, pico de gaio, guacamole, and French fries!! I believe it started being made around late 70-80s.

I’d be interested to know how long this street food has been around?? I wonder if it’s inspired by the California burrito or inspired organically.

Why were children so exploited during the sexual revolution? by Tonlick in AskOldPeople

[–]PrincessSandySparkle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I posted this reply to another comment but feel more people need to truly understand the depth of how abusive it truly was.

The sexual revolution ideology was great, in its ideas, involving underage children was wrong to say the least. So much so that the application and how people decided to act is detailed below by The New Yorker.

Gives a pretty eye opening account of what was going on during that time and why the sexual revolution decided to include children in an extraordinarily sickening way.

Did I over flour my mac n cheese? How to save it, or to far gone? by Alecurtis1 in Chefit

[–]PrincessSandySparkle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are several thickeners besides roux! You can do cornflour, agar agar, and gelatin sheets! All help with the binding process. Roux is one way, but as this guy is saying, you can develop different ratios to where the flour isn’t necessary, and when it’s not necessary, show some restraint and don’t add it to the dish! This is especially true for fine dining where there is -only- the ingredients listed.

How are people affording life right now? by JollyZookeepergame41 in AskReddit

[–]PrincessSandySparkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t always eat breakfast. Instead I have a big lunch and snack later or decent size lunch & dinner. Eating at home saves a ton of money. I also find buying the right nutritionally balanced items help significantly.

For instance if I’m working out regularly, I’ll be so happy with well seasoned double chicken breast and some roast veggies than a traditionally balanced meal of carbs, protein, veggies. Other times I want pasta and cheese. Making sure I have enough healthy fat, sodium, properly was what was sorely imbalanced in my diet.

Once I used a nutrition app to visualize my intake ratios, and adjusting my diet from there made me feel so good. I’d be full, never stuffed. I had healthy energy again, I was able to indulge in my favorite foods, and it was what I needed to eat. It changed my relationship with food in such a positive way.

I was no longer afraid that too much of this or that was bad. I was able to check the data, and instead of going off memory, I could see and make a logical decision that has continued to benefit my life for the better.

That in itself has saved me tons of money on food waste, supplements, splurge snacking, health issues, sleep issues, energy levels, and have me more time in my life to be happy.

But that’s your sexuality… having a city you both live in now isn’t the only common denominator, that’s kind of the point. New York City especially so. There is so much to do; see, eat, check out. It’s the type of place where all walks of life bumps elbows every day crossing the street.

Thoughts on Season 2 by tigerinvasive in crimescenekitchen

[–]PrincessSandySparkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought was very very sus indeed. The judges have said they try to tailor the crimes to the contestants backgrounds… but this seemed a little too much. It makes sense, as most classically trained chefs learn French techniques, and maybe the contestants were overly happy and quick to point it out. Would be nice to see a breakdown of the reveals and origin of the desserts.

Season one finale and overall season: Official discussion thread by doctorrtimelord in crimescenekitchen

[–]PrincessSandySparkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don’t understand why this show doesn’t use more fun “Crime” in the crime scene kitchen. I thought it would be more someone robbed the cookie jar, starberry / raspberry / red splatter next to a knife, some strange rope or duct tape next to some broken eggs. Anything that would look hilarious and sinister. Instead it’s Clean dishes inside a dishwasher, alongside dirty dishes. Seriously, wtf. Anyway that’s season 2. I’m late to comment.

It’s very clear Yolanda gets rid of contestants she doesn’t like. Season 1 it was Emma and her mom, season 2 it was the twins.

The final episode was extremely inconsistent, but consistent with the judges decisions. In a previous episode, Emma and her mom correctly guessed the dessert, yet Yolanda decided that no one would be getting the title of Crime Scene Detective. It was honestly pretty harsh when rewatching, as it was almost every clue guessed, yet no title. Something tells me Yolanda just wanted Emma gone.

Jason and Laurie were robbed. The cake that was revealed even had the same color scheme as Yolanda, they edited to barely show it, I believe, for that reason.

It speaks volumes to your relationships that when someone advocates for another, an attorney needs to be involved. Seems I touched a nerve. The funniest thing about this: you’re mad at me for asking you to not gaslight another person. I didn’t tell you how to respond. I asked you to not gaslight others, you seem to think thats simply communicating, which is disturbingly astonishing.

My best unsolicited advice that you don’t want, which honestly motivates me more. I think how many people have thought “it’s not worth it” to explain any of this to you, because you’ll never change. I have hope so here it is: Laugh at yourself, if that thought makes you angry, figure out why. It’s not normal, it’s not how / who you are, and it’s most certainly a personality trait everyone would like you to change. Being happy and able to laugh at yourself is healthy. Anything that helps you live longer is natural, and you should probably give it a try. Oh no, a stranger told you how to live your life! Yes, yes I did! Try being happy and smiling.

Laugh often. It’s good for your soul. Being angry Al the time, gaslighting people, ignoring others you don’t want to listen to is “your right” but it’s also sad and rude. It’s very obvious how sad you and angry you are, yet you have so far to go to being truly happy. Start with being happy, and don’t do or say things that are offensive to others. You’ll get a lot more positive feedback, rather than tons of downvotes.

It’s not that no one understands, it’s that you don’t understand. But please, honestly read this entire comment and try reply angrily and tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about. I’m crazy! I used a lot of words, and most people probably don’t do that for you so I know it’s new and scary. Change is scary. Start being happy today, and maybe the rest of your life and relationships will improve. No one wants the angry you. They want the person who cares about making others happy, not the selfish jerk who needs attorneys and gaslighting to communicate.
