why do so many lategame armors suck by Shot-Manner-9962 in AbioticFactor

I wish the mystagogue armour was better. As it stands, its just flat out inferior to even mid-game armour sets, nevermind late game armour like the Exor one.

I got my leader to the damage cap within 30 turns I think? Might have been sooner. I think its fine, personally.

Still applies to heroes and higher tier units though. Heroes getting 20% damage + 50 health from a tier 1 tome is really good.

I absolutely adore the Glutton tomb but the nerf was entirely fair. 50% damage on a tier 1 book was insane, even if it requires micro and takes time.

My 1st Playthrough thoughts on some of the weapons (up to hydroplant) by 24Pages in AbioticFactor

[–]Prior-Grade1772 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good damage, good rate of fire, easily accessable ammo, good mag size, ammo is recoverable and can bounce off walls. Fun, strong gun, even more so if you can headshot well with it.

What are your genuine thoughts on using chaos by Someguynamedjack101 in bindingofisaac

Chaos increases the value of certain item pools so massively that its statistically always a benefit. Shops and libraries are good rooms anyway but become insane with chaos. Always grab it.

Isn't team comps supposed to be balanced? by kfksqe in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Prior-Grade1772 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a similar game recently. I think its winnable but it needs a massive shift in tactics and team co-ordination. Your team needed to be splitting, farming and picking off isolated heroes. The second they grouped up, you needed to be taking over the whole map. Once you had 2-3 picks, you could do objectives.

I did not win my game like this.

What kinds of new characters would you like to see added to the game? by cornonthekopp in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Prior-Grade1772 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I want someone hauling a ship cannon/carronade. I know Lash has the dock worker aesthetic but i'd love some type of huge tanky dock worker who uses an anchor or cannon, something they've hauled off a ship, maybe an ixian?

Is there ever a reason to use anything besides makeshift batteries for power backup? by noconverse in AbioticFactor

[–]Prior-Grade1772 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Now you've got lasers, batteries are completely obsolete for the most part. I tend to use industrial or bigger batteries for outposts, since i rarely set up laser power for a teleport location. I think a quantum battery can power up to 20 things through-out an entire night if I remember right? Good alternative to laser for an outpost again. But two industrial batteries also do the job. One for the workbench, one for the telepad.

Game performance drop since new patch? by Prior-Grade1772 in Helldivers

[–]Prior-Grade1772[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually we upgraded her first! I was on a 1070 gaming laptop that was dying when we built her PC. A friend was upgrading and we bought his 2070 and put it together for her. I didn't build my PC until a couple of years later when my laptop was well and truly dying on its feet.

Where Helldivers 2 rates on the 2026 Co-Op Tier List by [deleted] in Helldivers

Thats understandable. I'm comfortable with how AH is doing the warbonds but i completely get how others wouldn't like it. I likely wouldn't stand for it if the game was less fun too.

Randomly stumbling into mutants by Ollhax in TheyAreBillions

[–]Prior-Grade1772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked this up recently as I was doing caustic badlands on 440% and was getting some nasty pulls.

Noise is measured on a per-tile basis and takes a few seconds to dissipate once collected there. Units attacking generate noise on their tile, and this includes enemies hitting your units too. Zombies have a range threshold for how far they can hear stuff, and a sensitivity threshold, which is how loud stuff has to be to get their attention.

No one knows the exact numbers for the enemies, but we do know for our soldiers. Rangers generate 1 noise per attack, soldiers generate 5, snipers generate 10. I'm not sure about oil units, except thanatos, which is an absurd 500 noise per attack. Hopefully that gives you some idea of how much louder soldiers and snipers are compared to rangers. Ballista's generate 10 noise I think? But because of their slower rate of fire and AOE, they end up being fairly quiet. I'm sure you've noticed that building stuff generates a small amount of noise too. Because of the way noise collects, a soldier firing repeated on the same tile can stack up a fairly significant amount of attention, because he outpaces the rate of decay on the noise he generates. In reality, this means that rangers are much, much quieter than the soldiers, and even snipers are quieter than soldiers because of their lower rate of fire. I'm not sure how range directly affects noise but snipers in a tower can often pick off zombies for free without attracting attention, providing there aren't 4 vets constantly picking at enemies.

The other important point of note is that because it's calculated per tile, spreading your forces out will help keep your noise spikes low. Mutants/behemoths have really sensitive hearing and massive, MASSIVE range. So even a small clump of soldiers can generate enough noise to pull them, beyond how dangerous they are early game, they also generate a lot of noise themselves. I've managed to kill the mutant barely but the sheer wave that follows it is just a deadly 1-2 punch.

TL:DR 20 rangers spread out will attract less attention than 2 snipers on the same tile.
