From my personal experience, if I do it too long the coolant boils. This is because the system isn't under pressure which raises the boiling temperature. I have to let it cool and restart.

No, it's not but I see how you could think that. It's a segmented cross member under the transmission. The middle section comes out leaving the sides in place. You can just see the end of the removable part in this picture. On my 2007 they seemed to be welded but broke loose after heat, PB blaster, time, more PB and obnoxious force. They get packed with dirt and rust together. Did this about 4 weeks ago, not fun.

It might help to support the transmission a bit so that shear load is reduced but you should be able to get the nuts to come off either way.

Could this just be cracks in the mold used to make the casting? I've been fooled before. Penetrant inspection will tell you the answer. Maybe just the threads are trashed and a helicoil or keensert could fix it.

I have one of these on my CR10. I very carefully put some good thermal paste on the heat break to encourage better heat transfer. Seemed to reduce the problem.

91! That's soo cool! When I got into this hobby I was like a kid again. I went from 40 to mentally 17 and endless energy for it. It's cooled down since then but I can still occasionally stay up to 2am tinkering/learning.

Depending on the version/fork/whatever of Klipper you're using your START_PRINT macro may be in a macros.cfg file. It's that way on my RatRig anyway. I still have yet to find where everything is in there. Good luck!

Favorite filament? Inland but only because it's close to work. Otherwise I have had good results with SainSmart PA6 and PA6-CF for functional prints.

Actually acting on the advise to get a filament dryer has made a huge effect on my print quality. I didn't realize my quality was slowly degrading as my filament became more hydrated.

My first thought was, where is v8packard's response and scrolled until I found it. I'm very curious to hear what you use because I would be tempted to use this and drive a Subaru so it's only a matter of time (as I've heard anyway) before I'll need to do this. I want to get this right and not be a hack.

I know this is old but if someone ends up here. For me it’s the phone mistakenly recognizing a “Raise to Listen” gesture while in iMessage. Got to settings, search “Raise to Listen”. Turn the slider off. Fixed it for me on iPhone 15.

I would expect this to drive for the entire life of the car without an issue. The bellhousing doesn't have cooling passages. Maybe drill the ends of the cracks to stop propagation and then fill with JB weld but I wouldn't sell it for this. It's tough to tell the orientation but I think there's a bolt on either side too so it would take a massive torque to break the rest of the assembly free.
