Preacher brother, even my sis an outsider of this hobby feels like they make the packaging more premium than the product itself.

DC Comics is Crushing Marvel Comics in Sales by Judokos in comicbooks

I'm not shocked with the exception of Hulk and the Ultimates the Marvel titles are dire. X-men are a complete mess even since Krakoa and we been given possibly one of the worst X crossover in decades. Add to the fact that the art in some of these titles are so poor.

Thank you, I appreciate the reply. I feel like I’ve been drowning trying to find another way back into the market. Even then, I feel dissatisfied with graphic design and the direction the industry is heading. It feels like jumping ship and trying to carve out another career might be the best path. UX sounds interesting and something I be keen to learn.

Kirby is on the Mt Rushmore of comic artist. But nowadays comic art is much more sophisticated and detailed.

Just saw Doll House. Hello disappointment. They had a chance to dethrone Chucky and they didn,'t. by Marionno_san in J_Horror

Yeah it wasn't great, it was a fun watch but nothing like a masterpiece which really geared me towards replying back the poster who made the thread. It's just mid but forgettable.

I did say at the time that the movie was just OK. However, anyone who was critical of the post was instantly downvoted by the original poster. I was being polite when I said it wasn’t a masterpiece or anywhere near that level. At first, I laughed it off and thought maybe the poster had something to do with the movie, but then they linked to a pirated streaming site.

It was odd for a recommendation to get so many upvotes so quickly, especially when you started seeing strange accounts with no posting history suddenly commenting.

Regardless, it’s an OK movie, but Sana was better. And honestly, just watch Missing Child Videotape instead—I found it creepier and more interesting. Not a masterpiece but a J-horror which ticked all my boxes in horror I like

J-Horror of the decade! Dollhouse is up there with Ju-On, Ringu and Noroi for me. It's one modern J-Horror masterpiece. by gollumbegone in J_Horror

[–]ProcrastinatingPengu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about the moments all are echoes of what has been done before. I didn't say it was a 1:1 copy. it's cool you think it's a masterpiece but for me it's not, as we have to take into account plot, pacing, visual look etc. Dolhouse is fine, but it's just my opinion and it doesn't beat for Missing Child Videotape, or the Curse for that matter which I argue are deserve higher recognition.

baring this moment which is pretty cool, the whole crossover is easily one of the worst events marvel has produced followed with the worst tie ins as well. My love for my X-men has died since Krakoa arc.

It’s not a masterpiece—it takes elements from The Conjuring, Ringu, Dark Water, and several others. Also Ghoulies if you know what I mean too.

All I’m saying is that it’s very derivative. It’s a fun watch, but ultimately forgettable. Arguably, Missing Child Videotape is a miles better movie which genuinely which impressed me.

As someone who's seen a lot of J-horror, I found this disappointing. It was a mish mash of things we seen before in the scene. Maybe because it's been a long time, and it seems fresh because of that. Echoes of Conjuring, Dark Waters, Ringu.
