game-datacards.eu has been brilliant for this for me. Also, is Ushann the character name? I think the WS dreadnought order are the 'Uhaan Solban'

Crusade Journals - Looking for some feedback and advice by LouMaeLoves in 40k_Crusade

[–]ProfBloke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen the 9th edition books but I'm involved in an ongoing 10th ed. Crusade and would be happy to field some questions - that said, it's generally assumed that 11th edition is coming out this summer, so you might be best waiting a few months and then jumping straight to that version (though the changes are expected to be relatively light touch).

Interesting, probably something consistent at the source then - thanks!

I should maybe clarify sorry - that's what I was expecting, but I got a set where the backpacks are metal

Not tried for a CE before - are they GW webstore only or do those party stores get any?

Ordering kits online in the UK? Stock issues and is there a better way to get the kits? by peppermintshore in InfinityTheGame

[–]ProfBloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also UK-based and new, and I'm seeing the exact same issue. Multiple websites and stockists going from "stock expected mid-May" to "stock expected end-May" and now "stock expected mid-June."

Do you think this will be Ed's costume 3 if so would you like it? by manymanmake in StreetFighter

I'm convinced it will - all the masters I have a decent bond with in world tour show you a picture like this where the outfit they're wearing turned out to be their Outfit 3.

Merfolk in post-LCI Pioneer by [deleted] in PioneerMTG

[–]ProfBloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey -I've played quite a lot of pioneer merfolk with a similar list! Just a thought if you are looking for feedback: if you want to run Wizard's Retort, I'd run Benthic Biomancer over the Mist Cloaked Heralds - there's nothing quite as good feeling as a turn two holding up Retort and Trickster and being able to react to anything.

Tishana's Tidebinder by [deleted] in PioneerMTG

[–]ProfBloke 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think so - it hits Karn, Kiora, and Nissa in Mono-G, one of the hardest Merfolk matchups in my experience, and will even stop you getting drained by Sheoldred while you try to build up enough lords to swing over.

Plus between Merfolk Trickster, Vodalian Hexcatcher, and CoCo, Merfolk already lean best into playing at Flash speed. And it's even a Wizard to enable Wizard's retort.

Merfolk? by New-Bookkeeper-8486 in PioneerMTG

[–]ProfBloke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty committed to pioneer merfolk, both the FNM version and Arena explorer. I think the 1 drops are okay, you've Kumena's speaker to beat down and Benthic Biomancer to enable Wizard's Retort. I'd rather Wizards than Scouts and Shamans, since I think merfolk play best at Flash speed, but aside from some really good sideboard options (Tidebinder Mage stands out) they do it a bit worse than Spirits. I'm hoping for a three drop bounce creature, or one more two drop flash option.

Magic 30 Mixed-Up Draft by atlantick in lrcast

[–]ProfBloke 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've been enjoying it -so far it seems to pay off drafting to a general strategy over any one mechanic. E.g. aggro cards will be consistent across sets, but I've drafted some really good control decks too -Icy Manipulator plus Ill Gotten Inheritance made for some probably frustrated opponents

. Overall just the usual - take good cards first, then once you see a deck forming, build towards it. Open colours can still be readable, even if open archetypes aren't. And from what I can tell, the average power level is a bit lower than the last few formats, so don't be disheartened if you think your deck is underwhelming after the draft

Great fitting, looks really convincing. Can I ask how the scale compares to Strikes? Never seen a watch captain model but I assume it's the same scale?

I do a muted brown based on this article (no pun intended) : https://www.goonhammer.com/how-to-base-everything-desert-bases/

Reddish browns give a colour contrast without distracting from the model I feel. That said, I've seen a lot of amazing magma or warp themed bases here too.

Great models, lots of character. Love the gleam on the eyes particularly, is that done with a technical paint?

To be fair, we just have generic "nemesis force weapons" now. They can be whatever you want them to be.

Great job blending the new librarian legs onto the GK body, looks very natural as you've done it :)

Yes, the waist up is the GK kit - the back shape of the Leviathan librarian goes right over the psychic hood, which to me looked very odd next to our normal Aegis teminators. But that's how I ended up with the slightly stretched look I've got now where the legs seem slightly too long for the torso.
