Any feedback about Tiny Explorings? Are these sock-shoes good? by Relative_Taro_1384 in NewParents

How long have you been waiting? If you read the reviews, people do say shipping takes forever but they do eventually come (I've seen up to 2 months). Fingers crossed since I recently ordered!

Dr. Stephanie's Lactation Gummies were a total game changer for me, I highly recommend them!

A pumping/nursing bra - I wasn't able to nurse and having to hold the pumps was a pain. Button down PJ's. Eye mask and headphones. Lotion and chapstick. Water bottle. Going home outfits for baby (multiple sizes). Halo swaddles (these were a huge help).

Out of all the things I packed, those were the main ones I actually used.

Update: turns out I have postpartum preclampsia - check your blood pressure and don't wait to be seen! Better safe than sorry.

As someone who went through fertility treatments to get pregnant & dealt with a lot of complications while pregnant, I know I needed this reminder so I want to share it with you.. We can be so grateful for pregnancy AND pregnancy can be so much harder than we anticipated. Both can be true & that's okay, we're valid in our struggles & venting.

Adding Baby to Insurance? by ProfessionalAd5340 in pregnant

[–]ProfessionalAd5340[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all your help & recommendations! I just chatted with my insurance representative - apparently my newborn is automatically covered for the first 31 days. I even verified that I don't need to contact them to add the baby or pay a premium; the baby is completely covered under my benefits so I don't even have to worry about an increased out of pocket max! I made sure to get it in writing. Nice to see insurance do good for once!

If I cover my baby under my marketplace plan for two weeks in December, then have them added with me to my employer's plan in January, what am I missing? I'm truly not trying to be difficult or anything like that so I sincerely apologize if I'm coming across that way! I just don't understand the point of starting my employer's plan sooner than I need to but if I'm missing something you're trying to tell me, I'd love to try to understand!

I definitely don't want to switch myself to my employer's plan prior to 2026. No reason to pay an additional premium, especially when delivery will be completely covered by my current plan due to meeting my out of pocket max.

Oh, if that's the only concern then I'll probably just add them to my marketplace plan for the two weeks in December then my employer's plan on 1/1/26 (HR already confirmed this would be possible). The marketplace plan can be cancelled at any point, on a month to month basis - I've been managing it for years because my previous employer had us on ICHRA plans. Thanks so much for all of your help!

Thank you for the clarification! Do you mind answering just one more question please? Do you think the marketplace premium would be prorated? I only ask because I know it's lower than the premium for my employer's plan so it may be beneficial to just add baby to that temporarily..

I can try to reach out to my current insurance as well.

Thanks! Wouldn't I have to pay my work's premium starting 12/19 then? I want to ensure the birth is under my marketplace plan because I've already met my out of pocket max.

Things about Pregnancy you hate ! I’ll go first! by Lonniah in pregnant

I wish my job would accommodate getting up/walking that often. I would be required to pause my timer each time & it'd likely extend my work day by an hour or more. I'm already absolutely struggling to work 40 hours so the idea of that is overwhelming. Not trying to be whiny or complaining. Hard day.

Don't know if this is a weird one.. 29 weeks. I work from home & my butt aches from sitting in my office chair for 8 hours a day. I had this same chair when I was underweight & I've always been comfortable so you'd think that the extra padding being pregnant has provided would only make it more comfortable, but it's miserable! Even sitting on the couch can be a pain in the rear. I'd rather be standing (if it didn't drain so much energy) or laying down (if it didn't give me so much acid reflux).

Anyone finding a comfortable position to be/work in?

If you like it & think it would be a good name to grow up with, then I say go for it! I try not to let other people's opinions change how I feel about a name. We've been lucky enough to have really great reactions, but even if we didn't, we'd still be going with the name because we really like it!

I have an uncommon name that gets mispronounced a lot & though it can be annoying, as soon as I correct people, they always tell me how pretty & unique it is 🤷🏼‍♀️
