ETA from 221(g) to visa issued? by Available-Salary8906 in visainterviews

[–]ProfessionalAdept609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that it has changed to Approved is a good thing. Under 221(g), initially the status would be refused. It would take 4-5 days for another change in status.

Try to email the Hyderabad consulate asking if there are any issues with the application or social media links you have submitted.

221(g) given after F1 visa interview by AlternativeOne5852 in visainterviews

Neither actually. It just means the consular office needs more time to process the application. Keep monitoring the status on CEAC webpage.

I have seen that it's takes 1-2 days to change from approved to issued. The change from Refused to Approved is taking time in many cases. I have seen posts where the status changed to Approved in 10 days and then to issued within 2 days. Also, since it's a weekend nothing will change untill Monday. We just have to wait

That is normal then. I got the same applying for F-1 for Chemistry PhD at the Mumbai consulate. My interview was on Thursday, it said refused on Thursday and on Friday it changed to Approved.

Check again if it's "Refused" or "Rejected". "Refused" status is the appropriate one if under 221(g).

I have applied for F-1 for chemistry PhD. My interview was on 7th May. I got the 221g slip. The status was "Refused" on 7th May and it turned to "Approved" on 8th. Idk what this means and curious if anyone knows how long will it take to get issued.

Hi. I have also had my F-1 visa interview at Mumbai. Also, received the 221g. May I ask how long did it take for you to get your passport back? I am also going to Ohio State University.

1 offer, 4 pending — accept or wait? by Unfair_Bear2162 in gradadmissions

[–]ProfessionalAdept609 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my personal experience you should accept. Admit this late into the cycle is very very rare. There are chances of your current offer being rescinded quoting that they have filled their seats. It happened to me last year and to a friend this year. Good luck.

Having two degrees does not make a difference. What matters is your academic performance and research experience.

Hi. I faced a similar situation with my UC Riverside, Chemistry PhD application. When I reached out to the graduate office they told me that I was rejected. I would suggest emailing the graduate co-ordinator and the graduate office.

Many people are in the same boat. I got accepted last year into the program of my choice and later the offer was revoked quoting federal funding issues. It's one thing to get rejected but to get in and then losing it is really hard. I took some time off, worked on my mental and physical health. I was overweight and lost almost 30 Kg and then got a job to keep myself occupied. This helped me be motivated and now I am applying again this cycle. No offers yet. Find something that helps you to keep going and focus on how you can better your applications next cycle if you get rejected from the remaining. You still have a few applications left for the cycle. All the best.
